Hi and thanks in advance for your response.

I'm trying to scan and organize my Matt Cain collection so that I don't keep buying the same stupid card over and over again. I have scanned most of them and put them into Photobucket, but the library is pretty large and not sure if I should sub-categorize by type (i.e. plates, autos, base, serial numbered, etc) brand or by year. Any suggestions? I know about the database tracking for a list, but this question is more about scan organization.

This is my system.

Base and Inserts, sorted by year then brand then scarcity (for parallels).
GU separated, sorted by year then brand then scarcity.
Autos separated, sorted by year then brand scarcity.
Unlicensed, Food Issue, Stickers, and Oddballs separated.

I'm a set collector, but I have one excel workbook for every set. One sheet in the workbook for every subset. I keep that open while surfing eBay!

I try to match beckett from back in the day. Year, brand, base, parallels, inserts. But i dont use photobucket and their folders. I use my own website and there its broken down the same as i listed above.

Everything is organized by year then by brand. I don't discriminate between rarity or anything and I keep two copies of every image:

1. One cropped full size without touch ups, or watermark
2. One with resizing, touch ups and watermark

The later is the one that I upload to my player collector subdomain at museum.radicards.com.
