At the same time, I am glad they are in his collection. Sounds like he is not moving them anytime soon, which means there that many less fakes out there on the market.

He probably sends in a LOT of them all the time to PSA and the ones that get through are the ones he's showing off. When nearly ever single one seems to be fake, I don't think he is buying them that way.

Even if that guy did come here to read this thread and discuss his cards, no one has shown him any proof that they are indeed fake.
While it's true that sometimes numbering doesn't matter, and slick patches can come from a higher number issue, there's major points he's missing that could help him out if he decided to check in on it.

In those sets specifically, if it says game worn jersey - it's not a patch.
If it says game worn jersey prime, it's colored, from somewhere, but not from a logo or laundry tag.
Logo patches say Logo Patch
Laundry Tags say Laundry Tag

I'm not a pro on 2005 donruss products, but even I know that much. perhaps someone can put together a better list of solid evidence for this guy that is undisputable.


I remember when there was always "fake or real" or "check out this fake patch" threads around here and Beckett. So many in fact, that people ******* about them. The frequency of those threads died down a bit, not because of a lack of fakes - it's more like we all know it already, so why make a thread?

When seeing those threads, after a while I thought to myself - "How can anyone be blind enough to buy these patches anymore" I thought maybe there were a bunch of people just oblivious to the facts about them. I never once thought that it would be One Guy buying so many of them. To me, that makes it even more sad. It's one thing to think that a bunch of random people have a fake or 2 in their collection, but to have a collection that's 95% fake? God! Can you imagine how much this guy spent?

I'd say I'm at a loss for words, but apparently I'm not cuz I've rambled on plenty already.

I hate patch fakers. If we're such a great community of collectors, how come in 5-8 years of patch faking, we haven't figured out how to do anything about it?

What you are looking at, is the undisputed best collection of 1987 Topps cards in the world. There's a nice Luis Salazar, dead centered. Ohhhh there's a sweet Bip Roberts. Rookie. Nice third year Clemens there.

And all the cards would be black and white photocopies of 1987 Topps cards, or genuine 1992 Topps cards.

Burge submits a lot of cards through PSA, so obviously they are strapped for cash. They will slab anything if you've got the funds to send it to them.

i only saw 4 or so that said jersey prime. And even those can be faked to look nicer than the original. This guy probably spent between $50 and $200 for each card (150) which would mean he spent around $18,000 at $120 a pop on all of these combined. That just shows how much money these patch fakers are pulling in. Like someone said before. At least they were all gobbled up by this guy.

UNGRADEABLE CARDS:
PSA will not grade cards which bear evidence of trimming, re-coloring, restoration, or any other forms of tampering, or are of questionable authenticity.

That's a crock. There are 16 year old kids on this very message board that would flag these as having "questionable authenticity" or may "bear evidence of ... tampering".

PSA let this guy down. Assuming he isn't the one who made them, then they didn't let him down, they helped him. Either way, they let the hobby down. If PSA doesn't know these are fakes - well come on, they have to right? That just means PSA is either ignorant, or untrustworthy. It's really just one or the other.

He said he would send additional images of the cards to people who asked for them, at the end of the video. Someone should ask him for scans of the backs of the cards and serial numbers. I'm sure people on here have owned one or more of those cards at some point before they were tampered with, and have scans of the cards with original GU swatches.

Well lets look at two of the few that DO say jersey-prime..the ben sheets #'d to 9 and the delgado past and present..here are scans of mine..the delgado i recently sold but my two surely don't look like those..

Burge submits a lot of cards through PSA, so obviously they are strapped for cash. They will slab anything if you've got the funds to send it to them.

Exactly, there are several sellers who are big grading submitters and they manage to get some questionable cards graded as well as very favorable grades.
