Although the AS game is mostly a popularity contest, and he is quite popular due to his historic start, I tend to agree the sample size is too small to offer him a spot. Let him earn his stripes so to speak, he will have many AS games to attend in the future if he can keep on producing. However, I am ok with either outcome...

Could it be a matter of time before they discover dirty pee with this guy? He's a beast! It's sad that its the past (McGwire, Sosa, Bonds) that breeds our skepticism of current players who produce.....given its early for Puig.

If Puig makes the AS game for 3 weeks of stats over someone like Michael Cuddyer (22 game hitting streak, .341 avg, 11 HR, 43 RBI, 6 SB) then I can honestly say the entire voting system is broken.

the easiest thing is put him on the NL's final 5 and let the fans decide if he should earn the final NL all-star spot! I voted him in on my 35 ballots because I voted late and not early and I think the write-in campaign won't be successful because a lot of votes were cast before he arrived on the national scene.

The AS process is totally flawed any way. Guys on the DL make it, each team has to have a representative, etc. The All-Star voting process proves that the fans are as useful as the voting writers they XXXXX about.

If by conditioning you also mean steroids and other performance enhancers then yeah football players do it better then anyone else.
