...I've been dealing with him dating back to the early 90's when he would mail me printed lists of everything he had of my player.

Now that's 90's talk.

Still have Jim's sheets somewhere. Got my player's 1993 Fleer Fruit Of The Loom from the man. ;)

1994 Finest Pre-Productions, I have been trying to find them all forever, really tough since they are in 5000ct boxes in people closets presumably.

I know I've got some of those somewhere, but I never knew what the heck they were.... Damn, looks like I'll be digging through some boxes tonight. Are you going for a set or something? I'll let you know what I find, and if you need em... well, they're yours!

John

I remember those being part of 1994 Topps inserts in packs.

I think you are remembering wrong. The 1994 Topps factory sets had a three card "Superstar Sampler" pack (one of the cards was a Finest, along with a Bowman and Stadium Club). They didn't have the "Preproduction" lettering though.

Nope. It was 1994 Topps Series 2 boxes that had them randomly inserted.

Finest Pre-Production cards were issued in Topps 2nd series packs. The set contains 40 card with the words Pre-Production on the back being the only difference from the regular issue. Size: 2-1/2 X 3-1/2 in.

Cool! Thanks for correcting me. I didn't know they were distributed that way - learned something new today!

I picked this up.

1998EX2001Griffey.jpg

Does anyone have any info on it? The guy I bought it from said it was an insert, but it looks like the base cards. I didn't pay much for, so if it is only a base card, no big deal. He said it had a bv if $70. Thanks guys.

If it's card # 10, I'm pretty sure that is a base card from 1998 ex-2001. If it was an essential credentials future it should be serial #ed to 91. If it's an essential credentials now it should be serial #ed 9 (I think). The credentials future has a BV in the $60 range, so that may be what the guy was thinking.

Thanks edward. It is #10. I was 99.9% positive that it was the base card. I picked it up for a couple of dollars, so no big deal. I think he just got confused on what card it was. Either way, I still think it looks good. :D

Yeah, that's a base. The Essential Credentials Now were yellow, and the Essential Credentials Future were pink.

McGwire and Sosa both had these cards. There were 70 variations of these printed (one for each homerun) of McGwire and 62 for Sosa. There were three different versions: base, chrome, refractor

Print run on the refractors is somewhere between 4-12 each.

The #70 HR Refractor was the holy grail of McGwire cards until the auto's started pouring in. The complete 70 card refractor set is all but impossible to finish. I think I've got 45 of them. These along with Tek Diffractors and Tek Gold cards will be the last cards I will probably need to complete my McGwire collection.

I swear I saw that 70 homerun card you posted a picture of in a card shop a good while back (presumably after the cards just hit) and the dude had a price tag on it of $999 . I am not sure if it was the refractor version or what but I wasn't really collecting cards at the time and I remember thinking the price of that card was one of the reasons why I wasn't into baseball anymore.

I don't even know if they were that rare, but I remember never finding these as a kid - I still don't have either one.

I forgot all about that card. There was a Nolan Ryan card also, that showed him on the mound going through the motions of a pitch. Damn, I can't remember the set! Stadium Club?

Ryan was in UD, I think, I am looking for it.

Could be. Either way I don't have it![/quote:12vu2grn]

I think they only made one Ryan triple exposure like your talking about and it was from 1989 upper deck. They may have made more or even from other sets but not to my recollection.I used to keep up with Nolan Ryan (before all the 1/1's and crazy inserts) and from the other years I cannot recall another card of this ilk although there could be.

I also found a Rickey Henderson as well. They may have made even more of these cards...I just can't remember them all.

I also have the Bo Jackson card ya'll refrenced with his shoulderpads on holding a baseball bat.If anyone needs a copy of the card let me know and I will try to get one for you.I know a dealer that had a stack of them that I passed on (because I already have one and didn't feel like having extras) but I could probably get them for next to nothing if not for plain free.

Here is my favorite Bo Jackson card!

I could never break a bat over my knee(even now...even a cracked one) so its pretty amazing to see this. The amount of strength it takes to do this plus the big bruise it would leave on your thigh...jeez?!

Hey, would you happen to have any info on the snoopy cards? I got the snoopy and the girl from a neighbor as a kid (maybe 15 years ago). They aren't in as nice of shape, but I've always wondered about them. Thanks in advance!
