all those mid 1990's artist proofs are what rarity truely is... overproduced packs of base with very random inserted AP's for which everyone in the set had one making the odds very long.. I have managed to find almost every one now of my player but alot of it is patience and willingness to pay what it takes to get it.

the 1995 Score rules jumbo's are extremely tough.. still don't have my guy yet.. they are numbered to 5k if I remember correctly but were only issued 1 per collector kit so who knows how many of those kits were sold and broke open. There is no abundance of these on the secondary market so a heavy premium when they do come up for sale. I bought a collector kit in hopes of pulling my guy.. got a Mattingly and sold it for more than the kit cost me. tax time I will be prospecting some more of the kits in hopes of landing my player. If I do get a Thomas I will contact you about it first.

Kind of like the 1993 Stadium Club First Day Production cards. 720 card set, 1 insert per box. Sure, they aren't that expensive in terms of parallel sets, but still pretty neat idea back in the day.

I loved collecting the SP cards in UD. When I got back into the hobby in May 1991, I heard about this "Jordan Card" in UD and remembered he took BP with the Sox. I saw one at a show for $18 and wanted it so badly. I eventually pulled one myself and was so happy. Then they made it a series of cards, 1 per year or series.

The triple-exposure Ryan card was a base UD card somewhere between 1989-1992.

Couldn't decide to post this in the "Most Wanted Card" thread, or this one... It was my most wanted 90's insert that I can actually afford and I finally won it tonight:
1997 Fleer Tiffany

I still need the checklist card and another subset card, but I was happy to get this!

Some of you guys might want to check out Southpaw Cards. Lots of players available, and many obscure/oddball/rare parallels are available. Jim Kramer is a very easy guy to deal with. I picked up one of the rarest cards on my list, the '92 Diamond Kings Super, from him (shoutout to Drew/thrill22 for giving me the heads up on that one!).

I've been dealing with him dating back to the early 90's when he would mail me printed lists of everything he had of my player. I would order what I needed and send a money order and usually get a nice handful of cards from him. the only thing I find with him now is the prices he wants are very high and he really doesn't have anything that I can't find somewhere else cheaper these days. I did buy a few cards from him when I first got back collecting last year that I'm glad I did because they haven't surfaced since.. if you email him you can work on the prices some too.

I agree. I found a huge lot of Tony Clark parallels that I don't have but it seems he's asking full book value for them. Ah well.

He may be asking full book, but he'll take less. Many of his cards (at least in looking at his Butler list) have been there a loooooooong time.

I figured he'd take less, but I'd rather ask when I have the funds so he'll know I'm not 'shopping around'.

From what I know, he is also on Beckett Marketplace.

I still do searches there for Biggio stuff and he is the only one with stuff always still listed.

Great inserts! I got a few in the mail today. They're not really rare, but they look great.

1996 Stadium Club Action Packed

1998 Bowman's Best Mirror Image Fusion w/ Ben Grieve

1998 Stadium Club Triumvirate Luminous (it didn't scan well, looks so much better in person)

1998 Ultra Thunderclap

After seeing some of the cards in this thread I had to get the Thunderclap and the Stadium Club Action packed.

Do you have a '96 or '97 Thunderclap? If you don't, check them out. IMO they are some of the better looking inserts.

I saw them on the bay. I plan on picking those up as well. You have such a SICK Thomas collection. You have a lot of great inserts. I've always been a fan of Thomas and I remember in '93 I would pick up boxes of Leaf hoping to pull cards for the Frank Thomas insert set. They were numbered to 10,000 I believe? I know one said Agression and I think one said Determination. It was a very cool looking set.

That would be them Magic. I was 15 and I thought the '93 Leaf set looked awesome. I bought 4 or 5 boxes of it and pulled one of those Thomas cards. I thought it was such a cool insert set.

I remember my local card shop in '93 that had the full size standup of Frank Thomas for the promo. I think she sold it at the end of the year to another collector, though I'm not certain.
