Here's one that isn't even in my Beckett (2005 or 2009) but it's on my Gwynn Checklist...anyone else have one of these?

1999 Skybox Molten Metal Fusion Gold serial #'d /50
It's pretty cool because the serial number is laser cut into (through) it!

It's a Molten Metal Fusion Titanium. There was also version with the National Convention logo printed on back.

OK! Titanium... I have a regular one, and a blueish one, and now this one. I wonder if the "Convention" one is #'d /50 as well

The blueish ones are Sterling, according the the SCD Catalog they have a National Convention version too, but it doesn't say what either Convention version is numbered to.

Hey guys - I'd love it if you proved me wrong, but EVERY 1999 Skybox Molten Metal card I have has a National Convention logo on the back.

If some exist without, I will need to see proof!

Every Andruw I have one has the national logo as well. Were these released in coordination with the national or some promo-giveaway? I never noticed the logo on the back before but now I'm curious.

Awesome pull!! It actually makes me wonder how many golds are still in packs now.

Lots! I know collectors sitting on boxes here and there and cases keep popping up, too bad I cant get a full case for it is broken open. If I had to guess I would say about 25-30% of the print run is still in wax.

Really that much? When this was released was it a sought after release or did it gain notoriety after wards? That just seems like a really high number although of my player I've seen maybe 10%.

It came out on the heels of 1996 Select Certified which at the time was $25-30 per pack. With the limited print run, serial numbered cards/boxes/cases shops were selling them 2xMSRP day one. One of my local BIG dealers only was given 1 Box. I think the prices per pack/box were too high for lots to be busted plus shops were only getting a few amount of boxes and they sat on shelves. With a Gold 1 per 5 1/2 boxes and a fair to average checklist breaking even was impossible.
That is my take

Can anyone tell me if the Hologrfx Gwynn pictured here is a gold version?

Looks like the gold version. Easiest way to tell is on the back. If "future fame" has a gold background it's the gold version. Here are some pics to help. First is silver version.

I've got a question - with the 1998 Topps Gold label black how did you know if they are class 1, 2 or 3? Do they say on the back?

hi guys, as the name states I really like donruss crusades.

the only other "rare" 90s insert I can think of could be my edgar martinez 93 topps finest refractor PSA 9 (looks 9.5 to me but a 9 is still nice IMO) as of right now Im an edgar collector, but am willing to sacrifice it for a nice crusade.

Thanks Cobra, I purchased a Class 3 off of the Bay and I wanted to make sure I got what I thought it was.
