Um actaully yes it does come out to more then $2.50
Because a bubble mailer is considered a Flat and a flat cost 1.95 for up to 3 ounces and then Delivery conformation is now $0.85 on top of the postage.
1.95
+0.85
= $2.80 from where I'm sitting. So it looks like it would cost more the 2.50 to ship this out at the post office. Here how about you go try this and send me a card using this method and when I get It I'll pp you the amount you spend back to you.

I'll PM me you address.
Here I did an example from my house to my in-laws and here what they say it would cost me to ship this out

So it is time you end you argument of I don't see it costing 3 bucks to ship this out to anyone. And move on in life really man this is a mute point now.

Good enough. Thanks. Putting this to rest as others failed to see the point behind this thread.

Everyone sees the point behind this thread...no one sided with you though and you made yourself look bad.

Probably did. I will admit I got more heated than I should have. Oh well, it is what it is.

X2! OP is a *********. People feed their kids with Ebay money, why would you want to hurt their businesses? If you dont like their stated policies don't deal with them, or kick yourself in the nuts for being a hypocrite. Knucklehead.

Let me see if I understand.

I am currently watching a card listed at .99 with $10.40 shipping listed. One card, in the U.S.

I'm obviously not going to bid on it BECAUSE I SEE THE SHIPPING CHARGE.

In your opinion, however, it would be ok to win the auction, then ding the guys DSR's?

As anal as ebay is they do not just send those letters or messages unless you really did or they think you did something wrong, which in this case was abuse the DRS system. You may not see it yourself but there obviously is an issue with the way you are leaving bad DRS ratings. Im going to go out on a limb and say the the real reason for the option to leave low or high DRS for shipping and Handling is because of all the complaints of people sending cards in plain white envelopes while charging 3 bucks or more (Im sure there are other reasons but this being the main reason). If you card arrives in a Bubble mailer, Top loader and well packaged then there is no reason not to leave 5 star rating especially after you agreed to buy the item after knowing the shipping and handling charges ahead of time. It would be different if the listing said 3 bucks and then the guy charges you 5 bucks on the invoice with out saying anything. 3 dollar shipping is just not that excessive with all the fees sellers have to pay these days. I honestly am not trying to be rude but I would never want someone with your thought process bidding on my cards and if I had a selling account i would more than likely block you. Like people have said if you dont like the cost of shipping, even knowing ahead of time, dont buy from that seller. Good luck moving forward.

You do know that there are other things for sale on eBay than just sports cards, right? You can leave low DSR for anything bought on eBay. I'm sure this is not the reason eBay chose to start using this system.

I think those that are responded to me that are pissed are misunderstanding my initial message. Everything is taken into consideration at the time when leaving DSR's. It's not like bam, bam, bam... I am leaving low DSR's. That's why ebay's message irked me in the first place because what I was doing was far from excessive. I only did it when it was warranted.

For those that blocked me, that's fine, you are just losing business. I am assuming since you blocked me you want to get away with excessive shipping. So by all means, block the heck out of me. I cannot justify ever having high shipping and screwing over my customers, that's just not how I work. So it sounds like you are just saving me money and frustration from winning items from someone that is has unprofessional selling standards.

I just don't understand why you would agree to pay a shipping price and then ding the seller for it. It doesn't make any sense man. The amount is RIGHT there in front of you when you bid or hit the BIN button. That's crazy. You seem like a sensible person too, I'm not sure how you are getting that. If you think it's excessive, don't bid on the item.

Now that I started to think about it more, I am glad I started this thread. I now realize everything I "thought" I knew about selling, I was wrong. Some members here made some very valid points and I got defensive about it which is completely unprofessional of me. I am not writing this to ask for pity or an "understanding". I am responding now because I got some good to great feedback and was proven wrong. I am looking at it as constructive criticism and I can only put this all in my mind going forward when dealing with ebay purchases.

So for all of you haters and those of you that blocked me, I am fine with it. Sometimes have to take the good with the bad to learn a valuable lesson.

Well said, we all live and learn. It takes a big man to admit his failures and embrace change/growth.

I am not defending or opposing but I can guarantee you that if I paid $3.00 for shipping and received the card in a PWE, I will ding them.

I just rec'd a "we covered your flaws" email. Just leave my ratings alone!

We wanted you to know that in the last 3 months -- prior to your July performance evaluation now reflected in your seller dashboard -- we took the following actions to benefit your account:
  • Removed 1 buyer protection cases
  • Removed low detailed seller ratings
    • Communication: 1
    • Shipping time: 1
    • Shipping and handling charges: 3

For me $3.00 shipping is fine, although I will search for sellers with lower s/h if possible. As long as the card comes in a bubble mailer/top loader etc. I am cool. If I receive a pwe then I might have an issue.

I don't sell very often but when I do I buy single bubble mailers from the wallymart. I don't reuse anything since worn sleeves look crappy.
I can't remember the last time I docked a seller on the ratings. As long as I receive the item listed in good condition and in a timely manner I am happy with the transaction.
It's like working retail. Some customers will complain pretty much about anything under the sun. As a worker all you can think of is , "Great. I have to deal with another a-hole". The point is that as long as you are getting what you paid for submit your feedback and move on. Don't be that a-hole.

$5.95. So I knew up front what I was paying and would have left 5 stars regardless of the expensive costs because I agreed to them at purchase. When it comes without DC and with postage due a day late...5 stars are no longer an option.

No different than anything else, I expect more if I'm paying more. If I get free shipping, get it to me safe in a reasonable amount of time...bravo. I have done free shipping with bubble mailer, top loader, cardboard backing, team bag, etc for a year and it's been more than worth it for my ratings and discount...and no hassle.

To update, the clown shipper responded stating "That's why it is call shipping and handeling(sic) fees..." With no mention or acknowledgement of the postage due.

This should be a fun negative to write.

Sent from a handheld, intergalactic communicator.

I always wondered if Ebay monitored this since I've suspected the competition of dinging my DSRs. No contact or case opened, just dinged and questionable feedback comment left. If they didn't really like what they recieved they had 30 days to return or exchange it.
