Moe Berg was a very interesting fella...I'm sure that would be a good read.Topnotchsy said:How about a book about a prewar player who spent some time on the Red Sox.
He also happened to be a WWII spy.
Check out "Moe Berg, Athlete, Scholar, Spy"
It's a book about one of the most amazing people to ever play baseball.
(Unrelated, but it's high time that Berg had a cut auto card made.)
Good luck. At one time I was trying to snag his autograph, but they're quite costly.scotty21690 said:Moe Berg was a very interesting fella...I'm sure that would be a good read.Topnotchsy said:How about a book about a prewar player who spent some time on the Red Sox.

On a related note I still need his card for my 1939 Play Ball Red Sox set
Thanks! And how much do those run?Topnotchsy said:Good luck. At one time I was trying to snag his autograph, but they're quite costly.

And has anyone read Summer of 49'?? That looks like a pretty good read, esp. since the same author wrote The Teammates.
Thanks for the help everyone...my sister insisted I find something for her to buy me for Christmas so I'd like a good baseball book or two.

I wish some publisher would reprint these or make them available digitally
Thanks Chris!...I absolutely loved The Teammates so I know I'd love that one.shanks25 said:Yo, Scotty..........I read Summer of 49 a couple months ago.......it is absolutely amazing!!!! Highly recommended!!!
