[quote="D-Lite":28zudd9e]I've been trying to find the preseason ESPN "Expert" picks link for a while now. I think 75-80% picked the Sox. Hell, who could blame them after the cash they dropped in the off-season.

This one? I still love the White Sox over Phillies prediction.
That's it, thanked.

It's amazing looking back at that. EVERYONE picked the Sox, not a single Yankee pick for AL East even. I mean, sure the Sox had the better off season on paper at that point and who could see Colon, Garcia, and Nova bailing out the rotation for the Yanks.

Please.[/quote:28zudd9e]

Nice. At least you waited for Monday to play the game and post this time.

It will be interesting to see who the Red Sox throw their money at this off season to fix their problems. Some bad signings over the last couple of years. They're beginning to look like the Yankees of the early 2000s. Huge payroll and names, but little results.

They had the results though, throughout most of the season. The season wouldn't have been all that bad if the injuries weren't there. These players might not have changed this Septembers free fall but you never know.

Tell that to his 3-run jack.

Who said anything about the Rays? I was specifically addressing the comment about starting a rookie catcher. Besides, the Rays winning just means they are still tied. The odds of the Yankees choking prior to the post-season is still against the Rays' odds.

The Yankees choking? They aren't choking, they're essentially handing the Rays the game 2moro.... they publically announced they won't use Mariano, Soriano, Robertson, Logan, Hughes, or any other pitcher who is going to be on the postseason roster. And they'll more than likely replace all their starters by the 5th or 6th inning.

I didn't say they have choked, but there's no guaranteed win tomorrow. Who would the Yankees rather play? A team that's on the rise (Rays) or a team that's been in a near free-fall (Sox)?

I would bet they'd still play their asses off tomorrow, but you're obviously a homer. I didn't make mention of anything about the Rays before you stuck your nose in it. You're so wrapped up in yourself that you're digging for someone to argue with.

Edit: Replacing "tomorrow" with "2moro"? Come on.

He just signed up a couple of weeks ago. Probably jumped on the Rays bandwagon when things started looking up and was nowhere to be found prior to that.

I'm sticking with my "vwnut alternate identity" theory. After November 1st, I suspect we won't see it again until next fall.
Or ever in my case, since my Ignore list grew by one.

Actually, i've been a Rays fan for awhile, favorite player used to be Cansecco, when I first got to see him play I began liking the Rays. Followed them throughout the years of torture. Nice to know you all give such nice warm greetings to the new guys on the board! Guess this collapse has really gotten to your heads!

Do you realize the irony of the bolded part? Or the post after the one I made about the 3-run HR? You're very passive-aggressive, but you also play the "you guys pick on new people" card.

I'm not picking on you because you're new -- it's because you're so lazy that you abbreviate "tomorrow" to "2moro".

Oh, that, and the fact that you're a homer and turn everything into a "Well, the Rays...".

Well when you join a forum and instantly post like a tool, not many people are going to give you a warm welcome. But if you are honestly butthurt about us not being nice to you then it might be for the best if you found a different baseball forum to troll on.

Sorry, I did not realize every post had to be constructed to the standards of a term paper. My sincere apologies.

Once, again, if you can't see that one of my reasons is sarcasm and the other is the serious one...

Troll on? I was brought here from hearing how great a site this was. Is it my fault I joined at a time that the team I like was in the middle of a comeback in the Wild Card? I am simply enjoying the fact that my favorite team is in the middle of pulling off the greatest comeback in the history of the game! So if you can explain how I am posting like a tool when I am just trying to enjoy this historic comeback just like any fan of any other team would if their team was in the Rays' situation, please do, because I am intrigued to see how.
