Anybody else pretty sure that Curt Young got the final nail in his coffin due to Lester's awesome performance today?
I don't think they will fire Francona (nor do I think they should) but I think several of the coaches (young in Particular) will get axed.

How is firing Francona even a thought? He's brought Boston its only 2 championships in the past 100 years. The guy should have a lifetime contact.

I love the "OMG he won you a championship!" way of signing coaches.

The Red Sox have won one game since September 1st in which they scored less than 12 runs?

Thats not a good statistic.

You don't even have to go outside the Red Sox for an example of that, too.

Mike Lowell.

But, I think overall Francona has proven his worth to the organization. Having said that, this hasn't been his finest half-season. Not a fireable mess, though.

The Red Sox must resign Wakefield, he helped them win two championships!

So far this game is great, between Ellsbury getting caught stealing and The Wakefield/Saltalamacchia Duo. Let's see how the rest goes.

How is this Francona's fault though? If they are looking at Tito....then they should also look at Theo.
money wasted on "maybe" the wrong free agents. time will tell though.

Tito is doing all he can but the pitching just isnt getting it done.

Jeter is awesome!

I loved how he waited to tag home plate until Saltalamacchia had the ball and was totally oblivious and looking the wrong way. You could see Jeter refrain from going back to touch the plate while the play was still "going on" Jeter then walked back over to the plate and reached his leg through Saltalamacchia's to touch the plate.

I want a video.

30/30 season for Jacob Elderberries.

He's the only one awake at the plate so far for the Sox.
