What has this division come to? The Red Sox are rooting for the Yanks and the Yanks are rooting for the Rays....

I'm on the fence.

If Boston runs away with the wildcard they are able to set up their rotation. I don't want that.

Let them fight for it.

-------

Oh, and Bud Selig, if there were two wildcard teams there wouldn't even be a race right now.

Instead of the final ten games being important, it would just come down to one game in which anything can happen.

10 Exciting Games > 10 meaningless games and one good one.

Shields won't give up another run in this one.... and with Arod, Jeter, and Swish starting in the field in game 1, I doubt they play game 2. Montero will DH game 2, so they wont have room for them to DH.... Yanks very well could drop both here, so with a Boston loss tonight there very well could be a virtual tie. Go Rays!

If the Yankees win this game I expect tonights lineup to be:

C - Martin
1B - Swisher
2B - Nunez
SS - Pena
3B - Chavez
LF - Jones
CF - Granderson
RF - Dickerson
DH - Montero

D-Lite, do you know when the Red Sox are finally going to start challenging the 27 Yankees?

But anyway, note to Tampa if you can't score more than two runs off of....

Noesi, Valdez, Kontos, Laffey, Wade*, Logan, and Ayala** how do you think you would do in the playoffs?

*Bet Tampa wishes they had called him up so he couldn't opt out. 1.98 ERA?
**Ayala has actually been good, really good, so I'll give you that.

I was actually shocked to discover that in their entire history the Sox have only had 3 100 win seasons.

AND JUST 2 division titles in the last 16 years.

Boston just took a 4 to 1 lead. :D
Don't count your eggs before they hatch.
edit Rays down by one in game two. A Boston win and two Rays losses would be far from a virtual tie for the Rays.

You know there is baseball outside the AL East.

The Angels are currently a game behind the Rays, so there would still be a race going on.
I do get where your coming from......just saying things still wouldn't be a forgone conclusion at this point.

Who agrees?

The Angels would be tougher in the playoffs than the Rays.
