I never even knew that card existed or just figured I had it, until I saw it in one of Larrys pics. Its funny how every now and then something from the 80's-90's shows up, like the Fleer & those sports viewers.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I have a handful or so of the ones I need, but will be looking soon for others. :)

Will you be looking for all of his cards up to 1990, for example 1988 Fleer Sluggers/Pitchers Box Cards C2 ?

Ryan I love how you pulled that out of them all, because it is a ghost!

Not a ghost ;) I finally picked one up last year!

It's funny, the 88 Fleer and the 94 Pog are more scarce than the Chong. Or at least it would seem so, based on the number of each I've seen...

You may be right, but I'd gladly trade my copies of both for a nice Chong!

Hey, just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who is interested, because I never knew these Rickey items existed until i was putzing around on the internet last week. Every year (at least for a while there), there was a publisher who put out an "American League Red Book" and a "National League Green Book" with summaries of the prior years. I just did some searching and found that Rickey appears on the following covers in some way, shape, or form. I found them all on ebay, and there are plenty of copies of each floating out there if you want to get them for your collection. If you already had them (Ken probably did, no doubt), then it would have been nice if you shared this info with me year sago.

1982 American League Red Book - The A's team photo is one of four teams on the cover. Royals, Yankees and...Brewers (rememebr them in the AL??) are the others. You can see Rickey's small litte head front and center on the cover.

1990 American League Red Book - This shows all of the AL Red Book covers of the 80's, including the one from 1982 above. You probably need a magnifying glass to see Rickey, but trust me...he's on there.

1991 American League Red Book - This shows all of the awards from the previous season, including Rickey's AL MVP hardware. There's no pictures of Rickey, but pretty cool to see his award along with the others.

1992 American League Red Book - This actually shows a bunch of baseball cards, including Rickey's 1992 Upper Deck card. Others shown include Frank Thomas, Ripken, Molitor, Clemens, Joe Carter, Carlos Baerga (what happened to that guy?), and others.

Enjoy....and feel free to share any weird Rickey finds that you may have come across. :D

Scott, I might have 1 or 2 of them. Have I ever sent you my updated list? I have mine on Word, so I have no idea how to mail it to someone. I print it out every year so I always have a fresh copy in case the computer takes a shat. I am getting ready to print out the 2011 version next week. If you want one let me know.

I finally picked up a non-graded version, so I can part with this one now. I'd love to trade it for other 90's hard to find parallels!

I also just picked up a dupe 00 Ex Credentials if anyone needs one:

I never noticed that on this card, the mirror image of the player is pictured on the back, but the team name and logo on the hat are NOT backwards. The R on his batting glove is reversed but the San Diego is not. I've looked at this card hundreds of times and only now noticed. ::facepalm:: Feel kinda dumb.

Huh? :? I dunno, that somehow just struck me as strange... at least it's an 8 and not a PSA 10 or something... grading schmading. I like the way you guys think. :D

Don't feel dumb Larry, I would have never ever noticed it had you not pointed it out. And I have also held that card in my hand a bunch of times and checked it out, but it slipped right past me. I don't know how in hindsight, the SD on his hat looks funny and off center on the back.

Neil, I'm hoping to trade the cards now for some Rickey's that I need, but I'll let you know if I decide to go the sale route.

Ryan, I'm not a fan of graded cards, as they just don't store well, and I don't like the fact that they are all locked away, lol!

Larry, I didn't notice that either, and I'm the one that updated the giant scan! It is pretty weird the way they "modified" it. As for the hat, it does look weird, and is also missing the #24 from the bill. Speaking of #24's, we've got some trading to do Ryan!

I believe I had an e-mail with a list of older cards I was interested in, I'll see if I can dig it up to give you a jump start ;)

Thanks :)

On a more Rickey-related note, the A's have release a picture of the bobblead giveaway this year. I could do without the Kingsford Capital logo on the bottom, but overall it's not bad. Definitely could have been a lot worse!
