For anyone that has one in their eTopps account, looks like the t206 Rickey's are finally shipping, A's someone is selling one "in-hand" on eBay. Now I have to go and request mine for delivery!

I need to try to track down 2 of the eTopps 206. One to keep in portfolio and one in hand.

Here is another "off Rickey" post.

We recently purchased a kegerator, and have been saving bottle caps for awhile now. Here is what I plan the front to look like. Any comments, suggestions?

Bottom of Kegerator (needs some work) Wanted to do National Championship years, but it wont fit how I planned. Maybe just write Ohio State?

I got my eTopps T206 in the mail today. Looks better than the stock photo they had. It's not a white border, but a rainbow refractor type material. Also, they are serial numbered. Mine is 103/749.

I am pretty disappointed i must say in the way Topps does things with their etopps cards. They give you a holder with the eTopps but the card is a little smaller than the case so i moves around inside of it. If any of you got the Topps Diamond Insert card yoiu probably noticed the crappy film/covering they put on the front of the cards too that make them look wrinkled. Oh well, it is what it is......i guess that is what Topps does now since they decided to renew their office lease in New York City....can't spend money on anything else.

The good news is that there will be plenty more bottle caps to use with all the extra drinking Buckeye fans will be doing this season.

For years, we've decorator our kegorator with cardboard standees where the tap handle comes out of the middle of them in *interestin* places. We currently have Mini Me on there, but in the past some of my favorites have been Kathy Ireland and....Darth Vadar (yes Larry...it was awesome). The bottle cap thing is cool too, but we liked the odea of changing it up easily once we got bored of something. Plus...a little tougher...we've had a keg cap collection going on for years. Its always satisfying to tack up another one.

Thanks for the tip BTW on the eTopps 206. I immediately went and ordered mine for delivery. I just don't trust them over at Topps.

Does anyone know where i can get an Absolute Memorabilia 2003 glass plaque box? I've been looking through ebay. I've been going through some of my collection and realized i don't have a box for one of my Rickey plaques from the set.

thanks

You may not find an empty box, but I would suggest looking for one of the cheaper players from the set on eBay, and then just taking out the plaque and replacing it with the Rickey.

Yeah, and then turn around and sell the plaque with no box... but the shipping alone would be a killer! Maybe win a really cheap auction, and offer to let the seller keep the plaque if he knocks $10 off the shipping? Then HE can sell it with no box.

I have one, but sadly (or not) there is a plaque in it... OK, I'm happy it's not empty, the sad part is, I just checked out my list and it's not on there. I'll have to dig that up some time and check it out...

I just came over to post this, but you beat me to it!

Hey, thanks guys, you're the best! I had a crazy busy weekend, and when I checked the thread and saw this, I was hoping the auction wasn't over yet. It was a BIN and had still survived! Awesome! I snatched it right up, I didn't want to spend the money but it had that jersey cut out in the number 24 and it was #24? Could. Not. Resist.

Ryan, glad you were able to snag it before someone else did. I thought the 24 cutout was a nice touch, and would definitely look good in your collection.

I promise this is Rickey related, but I have to tell the story first. My son is a member of the River Cats Kids Club, and a few months ago I got a call saying that he'd been selected as the honorary bat boy of the day. This was later downgraded to "ball kid," as they rightfully realized that having 2-year-olds on the field wasn't the best idea :) But, we got 4 free tickets to a game, and he got to put the rosin bag out on the pitchers mound beforehand.

071.jpg

He was very careful to place the "bean bag" exactly where the guy was telling him too.

108.jpg

It's hard work walking all the way out to the mound, so a lemonade bigger than his head seemed appropriate :)

So now for the Rickey connection. When we got to the game, we picked up our tickets, and this is what was waiting for us...
11RiverCats1.jpg

Pretty odd coincidence, but definitely one that I won't complain about. It was also game #24 :)

Did one of "us" pick up the 8 Newark Bears team sets? If so what would you let one go for? I've done stuff like this in past, buy the lot, then sell extras off for to help recoup some money and help everyone out. i.e. $30 lot of 6, sell for $5 each.

I'm happy too. :D I checked my site to see just how good it will look, and... yeah, it's gonna be sweet! I'll have to get a scan of these someday. (lol)

Looks like the stars aligned on that night!

Yeah, that is pretty crazy. Months ago they invited you to the game... they knew it was going to be game #24 and Rickey would be on the tickets. I'm sure they were trying to impress you, I think we've discussed the fame and prestige that goes along with being owner of www.rickeyhendersoncollectibles.com :!:

Dude that River Cats Rickey ticket is just too much. What a story. That's awesome. And Ryan, nice snag on the one of the few 24/24s in existence.

I thought I'd do a little summer trolling to see if anyone wants to trade for some of my doubles. I've picked up a few more recently, so let me know if anyone sees anything they want.

Is there something special being "xmas" that is different from the regular HTA card from 2001?
