FML. Looong story shortish. Fridge broke yesterday, moved food/missed work in the AM, left work @ 3 to go get new fridge. CC @ 5:05, pick up Renée by 5:30. Pick up new fridge @ 3:30, get it to house @ 4, won't fit in door. Try and try, remove house door, try back door... old house, small doors... :x ... it's 5 so I throw the front door back on and head to get Néne. Terrible traffic, I show up at 5:29 as they are loading the van to leave. Whew! Yankees rain delay. Back to the house, can't move fridge by myself, waiting for Yankees. No Yankees. Friends come over, take doors off new refridgerator, lengthy process. Move new fridge in. :D Can't get old fridge out. :x Take off old fridge doors... check Rockies score for friend.... Yankees are playing, I'm missing it! 5th inning, 2-0 Yankees, CC had allowed 2 hits. :D Rockies getting spanked 7-3. Get old fridge out :D can't sqeeze new fridge into old fridge spot. :x :x :x Take hood off stove, light switches off wall, then wiggle and jiggle fridge into spot. :D By now it's 10:30, go check games. :x :x :x Yanks getting spaked, Rockies leading 8-7. Friends have to leave. Becky comes home! Put new fridge doors back on, move food from makeshift storage (brought mini fridge home from work, filled giant cooler with ice) into new fridge. Midnight. Clean up all messes made, get ready for bed, climb in at 1:30. Longest. Day. Ever. And my back hurts. And I'm tired.

How are y'all doin?

Just curious.....has anyone checked out my cooking site?

I have and was thinking about the bacon mac & cheese for the kids.....

It's very tasty. Made it a few times for Christmas and making it for the family tomorrow night when I head back to Ohio. Super easy to make and very very cheesy.

It looks easy enough that I could make it (and that's really saying something) and two of Becky's favorite things in the world are bacon and cheese. I'm gonna give that a shot!

Why do I let this stuff bother me so much? Authentic jersey, but not the same as what Rickey wore in 2003. 2003 had blue buttons. This is a 2004 or later jersey. Plus poor job on lettering. Front number should be bold and back numbers should be 3 (blue on gray on white) color not 2 (blue on white).

Since we all collect Rickey here, i was wondering if anyone has come across any Rickey error cards from 2006 Topps Sterling. I opened a box of his last year and I got card 52 numbered 217/250 and the front was of card 53. So someone out there probably has the front of card 52 with the back of something else. I can't really show a picture of it because i don't have my 4D camera working yet :)

Also,

i have an extra 1989 Canandien/French SLU if anyone is interested in trading; i'd probably put it in the $35-$40 value. i can send you a pic.

Ryan,

the #24 cards are nice for me but i can live without them if you are interested in these too (perhaps you have the same card in a different number, you could include a minor card of his too that is not worth much but what i need)

1999 Pacific Revolution Red 24/299 (i actually got this in a pack myself, crazy!)
2000 Pacific Private Stock Premiere Date 24/34

3 nice looking Rickey auto Sterlings came in today. All numbered to 10. Will post pics later. Not on card, but sweet looking nonetheless. I also got into an accident today and messed up my Avalanche pretty good on the passengers side. Everyone was okay. Just depressed about it. The Rickeys helped a little.

Got my 2010 Sterling Rickey today. Not bad for a sticker auto. Sorry the scan is so big I don't know how to shrink it if anyone has any advice that would be helpful.

I guess that's why I got a notice today saying that I have a certified mail package that I need to sign for. At least I hope its my redemption Rickey and not some printouts of Anthony Weiner's weiner. I'll scan and post when I have time to pick it up from the post office (probably not for a couple of weeks sadly). They look nice...at least it looks like they tried a little bit. Put a little bit of effort into it.

There's a booklet on ebay right now. I must say i am pretty disappointed with Topps Sterling. They are so bland. All of these damn relics are either white or grey and that's it. They must have bought a bunch of dave henderson jerseys or something.

I was lucky enough to get in on a full 18 box case break of 2011 Topps Triple Threads for the A's for $75 so i am hoping something comes out from that next month. I think i have a good chance of getting something good, even if it is not from Rickey; something i could sell to get a Rickey; unless Topps screws me over and puts Reggie and Rickey on nothing but Yanks, Catfish on nothing but Yankees, and Jimmie Foxx on the Sox, Fingers on the Brewers.............sorry for the tangent.

A sad moment, and something tough for me to do....but I'm throwing this out. It has some damage from shipping (I did actually get my claim fulfilled by the USPS). So, if anyone wants it...just pay me the shipping and I'll send it to you. Otherwise its going in the garbage, and then there will only be 1989 of them in existence, thus increasing the value of the other one I have ;) (and no I don't have the original box)

I also have this item which was damaged in the same shipping fiasco. The SLU inside is unbroken and in OK condition as far as I can tell. But the box is veritably ruined. If anyone wants it, let me know....but only if you are less than 105 years old (according to the box, you could have had it in your younger days, like when you were 102...but not now that your 105  ). Otherwise, I'm going to chuck it too.

Ken - Sorry about the Avalanche but glad everyone was OK.
Scott - Sucks about the plate being broke.

On a positive note I did make it back to Iowa with 99.99% of my Rickey collection. I forgot 2 Pepsi displays that are boxed up behind my old bed and didn't realize it until halfway home. Kristin helped me unload the car and everything is downstairs all boxed up. I'll start unpacking soon and snap some pictures.

I usually get to council bluffs once a year, but not this year. I try to go to Omaha for the family reunion that goes down every 4th of July, but this year my July is too booked up with the wedding and all.

Brian Ballzworth, when they first moved to Denver I was pretty excited about the Avalanche, but I wouldn't have ever called them mine, like the Indians.* ;) I can't wait to see some pics though!!

Ken, Sorry to hear about the Avalanche! (Brian, I have a "cheat sheet" with people's names and addresses, I'll try to email it to you later. It needs to be updated with new people's info though!)

Leff, are you saying you are getting rid of the SLU that was inside of the box? I might be interested in that package. Can you fix China plates I wonder? Prolly not, huh? One of my grandmas makes china stuff, has at least 60 years of experience! Well, don't throw the plate away just yet, if you don't mind...

Oh yeah Scott, I forgot to mention, I am less than 105 years old. I feel 105, because of that damn ba... oh wait! hehe... just kidding, I mean... how's the pregnancy coming along? I asked back on page 92, but you never answered! I don't know if it's because we have so many posts in this thread now that they are getting easier to miss, or if it's because I asked "How's the zygote coming alone?" which may not have been comprehensible.

Don't give up hope! There should be more redemptions, and even some redeemed cards hitting ebay in the future. For me, sadly, I just can't afford Rickey autos anymore. So I don't have to worry about these little things...

Also have a couple extra things to pick up. One of which I am really excited about and will post pictures to see how I should mount it.

It's almost time to show us!! Didn't want you to forget... unless I missed it. I'm combing back through the past few pages right now...
