Found an awesome Triple Threads patch 3/3 at the show this weekend.

Evidently he wanted to keep with the 3 theme, cuz he was asking 3 bills.

Thats about right. I would say the max for a 3/3 would be in the $275-300 range.

So I was looking thru David Eich's site and he has a listing that has me wondering.
1996 Topps Gallery Player's Private Issue (952)
1996 Topps Gallery Player's Private Issue Player Sets (100)

I have 1996 Gallery PPI (379)

Whats the difference? How many were printed?

The first 100 were actually given to each player. So anything lower than 100 came from Hendersons own personal stash. I dont believe there is anything else that makes them any different from the ones we have other than the numbering.

I found a few more to add to the trade list above:

1999 Paramount Opening Day 150 #/74
2005 Studio Portraits Throwback Red B/W 82 #/35
2010 Topps Legendary Lineage Relics #HU B.J. Upton #/50
2010 Topps Sterling Framed White (Yankees) #59 #/50

I picked all these up hoping to flip them for similar cards that I still need. If anyone wants to trade, just let me know :)

So do you consider that a parallel or the same card?

I guess I would consider it a unique card and would put it on my list as a Players Personal Collection which is how they should have been done in the first place.

So.... does anybody have one? I guess maybe David Eich? That would be a good question to ask Rickey, what did he do with those cards. Hmmm...

I have some pictures to post tonight of some things I unpacked. Need some room to put things and figure out how I'm goign to set up my Rickey Room.

Yes, David is the only one I know of that has that card. I always heard some were destroyed, but don't know for sure. That would seem pointless to me.

I had a post done and hit sumbit, then a storm hit and our power went out. Post didn't go thru. Working on it momentarily.

Back in 93 Mom bought a new car. The dealer gave her a 3 day stay anywhere in continental US or a few select Canadian cities. Toronto being one of them. This is how dedicated my family was to Rickey, mom once said he was part of the family. So without even asking, Mom says we're going to Toronto so I can see Rickey! So we get tickets to one of the games (stub and photos still packed up). Jays clinched division against Yanks this game. During the game we couldn't find my dad, and he later comes back and says "you should be getting a package in a couple of weeks. I was just talking to the photographer for the Toronto paper."

So picked this up on the way to SkyDome

Some action shots when I get everything unpacked. Some aren't the best, but they were free and I was stoked to even get them.

Random HOF stuff

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!! I'll be out of town through the weekend. Shortly thereafter I'll try to get some images scanned for you all to see. I thought I had a pretty good collection, but seeing your guys' scans is making me think otherwise!! Haha!

Hooooray!

I prefer audio books because not only am I a slow reader, I never want to dedicate 100% of myself to reading. I can listen to a book and do all kinds of other stuff. I have the paper version of Rickey's book, I only picked it up a couple years back when this generous collector named Dave Crum sent it to me. I love Rickey, so that made it a good book. I don't know that people who don't love Rickey would really find it all that interesting though....

the group talked about it quite a bit when I was reading it, but alas, that was a previous incarnation of The Rickey Henderson Collectors Thread...

I have the paperback, 2 hardbacks, one of which I would like signed sometime and the audio book. I would love to get the 2 HOF bats signed. Toronto paper not in best shape, but I almost gaurantee no one else has one.

Couple random facts.

Rickey stole 1406 bases. If he would have stolen one more (1407) he would have bested Brock's record by exactly 50%! That's unheard of! How many other records can you name that were surpassed and then raised to 150% of what they originally were?

Rickey was on 2nd when Carter hit the HR to win 93 title.

Rickey was strikeout 5000 for Nolan.

Most of us know these, but they popped into my head earlier.
