Definitely enough for us. I noticed when I shopped this am that there are 2 auctions listed at .99, and several above that, at least 5 more listed. Already. This will be a commonish card, I think it will sink below what Larry predicted.

I bought up so many GU cards #/25, thinking that surely there would be more than 25 people after these cards. I drove the price up a little, just enough to be out of my reach, but... I guess not enough people take collecting Rickey seriously enough.

I agree that we'll probably see a ton of those T-206 cards (anyone know if these are "game-used" or completely manufactured rubbish (like the 2010 Topps "Hat Logos" cards)? I think they'll end up being similar to the 2010 Topps bat relic cards which are going very cheap now.

Ryan, I need each of those cards too (maybe you did end up hoarding them from the people who love Rickey most. ). You also mentioned that you had a list that you were going to email me but never did. I'm still interested.

OK, small scare on the list thing. I brought my flash drive to work and kinda forgot where I put it. So like every day this week I go home and can't find it, decide it must be at work. Go to work the next day, can't find it... must be at home. I was really sad last night thinking I had lost it! But alas, it was sitting on this weird little shelf at work. Emailing now... probably even to people who didn't necessarily ask for it or want it. :D

I think it was between the 04 DC A's hat or jersey, and I was going to try to scan them maybe? I dunno... I did pull out the hats for some reason.

I know this is not the transaction board but I figured this was a "special" thread. ;)

I have the following Rickey inserts available. I have been breaking all my cards into player collections to go to the bay and figured I would offer em here first. I would like to sell them as a lot to make it easy for me. PM me any offers.
Thanks
Joe

That's right, I chose hat initially, but then I really liked the look of the jersey card that you posted. I'll just go with Jersey, and sav you the trouble of scanning the other one. I'd also like a copy of the list if possible :)

It's a slow day at work, well... sort of. There is plenty to do, but none of it needs to be done now. :D So I just sent you an email, and am working on Brad's now...

Well thanks for the compliments guys. :D I think my collection pales in comparison to y'alls, but hey.... My collection does have it's strong points. Like the jersey # section!

Hopefully everybody got the list...?

How about some deep Rickey Henderson thoughts?

With his rare combination of speed and power.... why did Rickey hit so few triples?

I was reading an article about Carl Crawford the other day, he is the eighth member of the 400-100-100 club. 100 homers, 100 triples, and 400 steals.

The other guys in the 400-100-100 club: Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Lou Brock, Frankie Frisch, Kenny Lofton, Paul Molitor, and Tim Raines. I got real confused like when I didn't see Rickey on the list...

Rickey Henderson over 25 seasons only picked up 66 triples!

Deep thoughts with Ryan Lundy...

What makes a Henderson run? Why did that Henderson not get to 100 triples?
Why can't all players be as cool as our Henderson? One may never know...

My two cents? Well, you're going to get it anyways. I think that in his Billy Ball days, Martin was a fan of small ball. Not legging out a triple, but staying safe at second if it was to be close. He would send a runner home from second, but not a lot of triples going on. Also, There were two years in NY when he had hammie issues. Real or not, I've had them, and dang, they take forever to heal. Let's see, I've seen him hit a few ground rule doubles that could have gone for triples. A couple of inside the park homers that to lesser players would have been triples. All that may explain 15 to 20. Also, and I think this is the biggie, he walked so often that had he swung at some of those strikes (can you say first pitch strike to start a game every time?) he may have had more opportunities to crank out a triple or two. His job was to take tons of pitches, and you can't swing for triples if you are trying to wear out the opposition.

Arrgh, I wanted to post my new acquisitions from last week, but I can't find the stupid cord that goes from the camera to the computer. Now I have to tell you, and not show. I got the two Topps Vault Ralston Purina proofs, and a 1989 Upper Deck promo/sample thing with "not for resale" on a blank back. I thought it was pretty cool. Love the Vault stuff, now I have 5 vault cards! If rjew had bid $0.51 more, he would have had them. So close...

Ryan, I didn't get it either. Can you send it to my hotmail email address?
