Never invested in someone who had brain surgery before. However, this kid has the drive and courage to one day get back in the game.

Was I insane to buy these? Guess we'll see.

I was trying to buy those for PC and cost you a ton probably, sorry. Investment wise I have a lot too, I got a lot of 35 autographs for 150 this summer.

Probably that he has a ton of talent and it would be an insane story if he made it big.
But like LLWesman said, I probably wouldn't have paid that pre-surgery anyway, but that's just me.

I already liked what I saw and read about him pre-surgery. His makeup is through the roof, and he's a great athlete. I think he's determined enough to regain it again. Plus, his story will create a ton of hype if he is successful.

Once he steps back on the field and starts playing I'm sure he'll get a lot of media hype, so you will probably be able to make a nice flip then. Plus, those are 2 really awesome looking cards even if it is Razor.

I would pay that much pre surgery, and did pay it for the Silver Black. I just like cards numbered 4/5 for a quirky personal thing, and wanted to get it, and Ryan was the first Sox player I ever saw post on a friend Facebook page, so figured I would chase it. I have the regular Razor rainbow all the way completed other than plates so wanted the refs.

Guys, come on....a little expensive maybe, but one card is /5 and the other /3....i don't think you went wrong. Plus when he gets back out there...his stuff will go crazy.

Wait, when did Razor make Gold /3 Autos? I bought 7 of the Golds that were numbered out of 25 at release. Did Razor recycle the metals in a recent product or something? Been out of the game for awhile so I'm kinda in the dark.

Now, Westy. His road to recovery is truly inspiring and if he gets back into baseball and lives up to anywhere near the potential he had before his surgery It would be Disney movie matieral.

They just came out in Razor Rookie Retro, also some sold on Ebay of the normal refractors, I got Casey Kelly in the hour that they were up.

I have no real issues investing in Westmoreland, as I tend to believe in him as well, but I question investing in Razor stuff at this point.

Difference is that Westmoreland was a huge story in the media so many people know about him outside of people who follow prospects like all of us. Rizzo wasn't much of a story and he wasn't getting hyped nearly as much as a prospect at the time of his illness like Westmoreland was.

If Westmoreland makes the majors it won't really add much to his hype. The hype surrounding injury will come when he returns to playing, not 3-4 years from now.

Rizzo wasn't featured on opening day at Fenway, Westmoreland was. Most people here know who Ryan is that are die hard fans, and NESN will pump him up HUGE on his road back.

I hope it works out for you. I'd like to pick up a card of his just because. Take a look at Lester. He came back from cancer and he seems to be doing alright. Not the same issue by any means but just an example that with the proper drive and determination, anything can be done.

I remember that lot pick-up beefy and I still believe he'll back at the top of prospects list alot sooner than most people, I just wish most of his stuff wasn't just Razor. I like the TD but not enough to get into too heavy, but will be looking this off-season.
