The company that made them no longer exists, he bought the name, it is the same as Topps doing A&G or t206.

~When Topps was sold, they should have stopped using their old designs in retro products... since it's a new owner and all.~

Seeing that link in your sig about the quest for the Wagner explains a lot. How did that turn out?

Anyway, I never said Leaf can't/shouldn't make these. I'm not even saying it's a bad idea. To insinuate they are as good or better, we'll see I guess.

I stopped it because no one seemed interested in it. Any other ridiculous questions meant to slight me but fail miserably in doing so? I'm not even sure what you are so butt-hurt about, but it's fun watching you back-peddle from your "Crusades rip-off" stance. And who insinuated that these are "as good or better" than the original Crusades set. I don't see that anywhere. Did you make it up?

Looks great, BG.

I have to say about the whole "not original" thing.. have you guys been under rocks the past 10 years? Has there been an "original" set been put out by Topps lately?

Good for you Brian, make that money!

That was the first chrome, and Topps didn't make it.

When were these made?

Finest debuted in '92

92, I got that promo for my birthday that year. They were out before finest, and the football finest was different than today's. They were more like the Wild Card super chrome cards, bloodshot was by Glass and Mirrorworks that made 1993 Finest.

We have had Tons of people tell us VALIANT is equally (and in some cases more) beautiful than it's inspiration 13 years ago.

Here you go.

And it is a Crusade rip-off.... isn't it? The term "rip-off" might ruffle your *******, maybe I should have said "immitation." Feel better?

I missed that. And let me be the first to say, who cares. He's pimping his own product. Kind of why he's here. Was he supposed to say, "It's a mere shadow of the original set and is in no way affiliated with it."

Rip-off. Imitation. Copy. I don't care what you call it. But you were using it as a slight or a slam on Leaf and I called you on it by explaining to you that Crusades were inserts in Leaf products and you got butt-hurt. Your butt feel better?

IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COMPANY YOU BUFFOON. I'm not saying they don't have the right to make it, but it's an "imitation" of a product put out by SOMEONE ELSE. You are DENSE.

So you think they shouldn't do any retro sets (like the 1,000s Topps does) from past Leaf sets because they are owned by someone new? And I'm the dense one and a buffoon. lol Sure buddy. Sure.

Maybe I should be writing on an etch-a-sketch or something so you can understand. I don't care who makes what. All I pointed out is they are imitations of someone else's work/effort/creativity (Topps included). Take that information for what it is.

I will say I do hate to think that the sexiest set of the last 40 years or so will now be ****** to death. If the set is successful, which I suspect it will be, do you think that will be the end? No, it will get watered down and watered down until it's mystique is a shadow of what it was. Allen & Ginter is a perfect example.

I must be the only one who thinks that looks like crap. Maybe it's the big font at the top.

Sure. You were "just" pointing out what everyone knew, that it has a similar design to the '98 Crusades set. Thanks for that enlightening info then. I didn't realize you were "just" pointing out obvious things that everyone already knew with zero intention to use that to slight the current Leaf company. My bad.

That was the cover of Bloodshot #1, Feb '93 cover, but don't remember the actual street date (obviously before Feb '93). I was a huge huge Valiant fan back in the day, especially Solar and Eternal Warrior.

As for the Crusades/Valiant similarity, I don't really care. Didn't UD rip off Topps 1971 design back in 2002 with Vintage?

Are you a teenager? Because you sure act like one. What are you on about with me? Why do you insist on insulting me like a bratty teenager when I never said anything to that was even mildly insulting to you before you started acting like a bitch? Chill the F out, homeboy. Take your childish act and stick it you know where.

That card was a promo to show off chromium technology, it was a smaller version of the cover since no one had ever seen anything like it before, soon after Comic images came out with a Frazetta Chromium set also before Finest.
