Sorry! Sweet HOF patch sold w/ a question

Sorry, I admit the mistake of listing an auction here before it was over. I was thinking that I'm the only one here that collects the set and I'm not gonna bid, but didn't think about how others would already be watching it.

Question: Is this faked?

No doubt anything can be faked, but this card would seemingly require pulling the layers apart. Topps did use only one Mathews jersey and got 30 patch cards from it. Wouldn't some of them be "too good to be true?"

More troubling is the Jim Palmer patch that has come up for auction several times at 75 bucks and gone unsold, as it doesn't have the authentication sticker on back.

Hey that Mathews is fine, it's from a long time collector who opened a ton of the old Tribute stuff( he's also the guy who got the Mount Rushmore quad cut!)

I think the patch is fine as well. Price wasn't bad either. I think the authenticity of the pre '06 Topps stuff is so much more dependable I won't touch the new stuff anymore.

Here's a Mathews I won not long ago from '02 Tribute. It's also a part of what looks to be the Braves tomahawk and may be from the same patch.

I really wanted that and had my snipe set on 300 but I pulled it at the last minute cause to me the patch didnt have enough color in it for me. That card is number 2 on my want list of modern cards not only cause it is mathews but because i am building the master set of 2001 tribute.

thanks, I have another Nellie patch that is not scanned and it is 3 color. If you ever see one keep me in mind, I will make it well worth your while.

I forgot that you collect this set as well! The master set of this will be pricey! Did you snag that Ruth/Gehrig that was up for bids a couple of weeks ago?

These patches just don't appear for sale very ofter, nor do the Franchise figures. I'm just going to do the single bats and jerseys myself.
