Bay will be out for the first two games of this series, and maybe more. Bay is NOT headed to the DL yet. Baldelli was placed on the DL, with Reddick called up. Reddick is expected to make it to Yankee Stadium for the start of the game.

LOL, Baldelli on the DL. In other news, the sky is blue. The guy just can't stay healthy.

It's not his fault. He has fatigue issues. I think it's hereditary, but I'm not certain. I remember there being a whole story on him.

He has a chronic disease. I respect him for being able to play at a high level regardless.

It's a mitochondrial disorder. His body can't recover as fast as others. I'm a Rays fan, I'm well aware of his disease and injury history.

The injury is a foot injury, that the Red Sox FO has NO relation to his previous problems. Why don't we make this the Sox-Yanks game 1 thread.

Go Sox (although that Rivera card above is one of my favorite cards on FCB :)).

Didn't Youk play a little LF last season?

Bay said after the game last night that he wouldn't be going on the DL and he will try to play on Saturday afternoon.

unfortunately I think because Smoltz is pitching the Yankees will win 7-3 :(

16 games, but I thought it was in 07.

Holding the Yankees to anything under 6 runs tonight is a morale victory for the Sox, regardless of the final.

I did not think Smoltz would start anymore, let alone a Sox-Yanks game..

Posada forgot to slide still 0-0. awful base running.

That was beyond awful - I know NESN was trying to go to the replay to see if Melky was telling him to slide; did he? I'm out of the room with the TV for the next hour or so; so keep this thread alive!

I hate living in Yankees territory. The game is on My9 (the Yankees channel), NESN (with the MLB Extra Innings package), and the MLB Network. But, of course, living in the Yankees "market," I'm forced to watch the game with the Yankees annoucers. To make things worse, My9 on DirectTV doesn't have a signal right now (with not a rain cloud in sight).
