I have some exciting news.

For the first time in over 10 years, my town is hosting an autograph session!

Somewhere here will be an autograph session with either Don Lucia, Jerry Kill, or Richard Pitino.

I'd be excited to meet all 3 (but especially Lucia).

Anyways, I had to share for no particular reason.

Sure will!

I was able to find a list.

I'll be seeing Pitino twice, Kill once, baseball coach John Anderson once, as well as a lot of the other coaches.

Lucia's not going to be down here though unfortunately.

Yeah, he seems to be a pretty cool guy in person from what I've seen. I haven't actually met him yet though, so I'm excited to see him.

I know it's a lot of $$ but I am going to spring on a mini helmet for Kill. I love the mini's.

I don't know what I plan to bring for Pitino. Floorboards sound like a good idea, but I can't find any good looking ones for sale and I can't cut any myself.

Maybe you could get something commemerating Louisville's national championship for Pitino.

I thought about having the photo of him and his dad with the trophy signed, but he was with FIU at the time so I probably won't have anything Louisville signed.

Tomorrow is the road trip stop.

It's funny, the entire town has been buzzing (roughly a town of 5,000 people, so it's "small") about how big this is, when this is all I do.

Anyways, I bought a mini helmet for coach Kill. Pitino and the rest of them will have to sign index cards.

The stop went really well.

I was given a sweet looking poster for autographs, so I used that instead of index cards. My plan is to eventually complete it.

I'll have a better run down this evening, but it went great.

Okay, here is everything I got

Norwood Teague 1/1 (poster)
Richard Pitino (Rick Pitino's son) 2/2 (poster/index card)
Pam Borton 1/1 (poster)
Jerry Kill 2/2 (poster/mini helmet)
Mike Burns 1/1 (poster)
Stefanie Golan 1/1 (poster)
Geoff Young 1/1 (poster)
Chuck Merzbacher 1/1 (poster)
J Robinson 2/2 (poster inscribed "Work hard!"/index card)

I lost the Robinson index card. I need to find it, but I can't remember where I put it.

I'll be doing one, maybe two more stops.

Gopher Road Trip Stop #2 :

I was fortunate to be able to go. My car broke down which resulted in 3 missed autograph chances and potentially one more, but my buddy was able to drive us today.

Unfortunately, I wanted to meet John Anderson (baseball coach) who didn't attend for some reason.

BUT, I got to meet some other people. These are the autographs I got. My friend got more for me on the team poster, but I have to figure out who signed where.

Hugh McCutcheon 1/1 - You may remember him from the Olympic games. He was the Men's Volleyball Coach in Beijing (Gold Medal) and the Women's Volleyball coach in London (Silver Medal). He signed an index card for me. I asked him to inscribe it with "2008 Beijing Gold Medal" but he didn't (understandable, I probably shouldn't have asked in the first place). Instead, he personalized it, signed it "Gopher the Gold" and "UM VB" and "USA VB"

Rich Pitino 2/2 - He was on basically every stop as far as I know. He's pretty popular right now. I had him sign 2 4x6's from the first pitch he threw at the Twins game this past week.

Quincy Lewis 1/1 - He's not a coach, but he works for the school's athletic department and was there helping out. He played a few years in the NBA, and I had an extra index card so I had him sign it.

Mike Burns 1/1 - He's the Gymnastics coach. Great guy too. We chatted with him at the first stop for a bit. Since he was at the second stop, I printed up a photo of his handstand that he did. He signed it with "To My Best Fans." There's more to the story, but I'll save that for a later post.

So, photos will be coming tonight. Some great pics!
