Lot of complaints about high 1998 Tek diffractor prices. If you have any 1998 Tek diffractors of players you aren't collecting, please consider trading one or more of them to me for an equivalent value of my extra 1998 Tek diffractors listed below. Send me a list of what you have and what you are looking for (PM or email to [email protected]). I have over 40% of the master set of 1998 Tek diffractors and will trade in your favor for ones I need.

I love how you have more duplicates than probably the rest of us have non-dups combined haha

Joe,

I would love to trade my duplicate diffractors. Much more fun than spending money. You would be surprised how many people on this board have collections of 50 or more diffractors, not just of their favorite player(s) but across the board. I think I'm pretty easy to deal with and will trade in your favor for cards I need.

Rich.

Happy to announce I landed and have on hand one of the two base patterns I have remaining. Very pleased. Now for the last one haha...

In other news, Toga do you need Thome #89 /P89 and/or McCracken #82 /P82?

I know you collect same number and pattern.

I also got Glaus #61 /P64 for everyone's info. All available.

Ain't that the truth!

Totally irrelevant and nonsensical flashback - I remember years ago, back when you first told me about your diffractor collection, I remember thinking about that moment in movies when someone makes millions of dollars and they fill up a bathtub in $100's, get in and start throwing it in the air yelling something about how happy they are. I had this mental image of you doing the same except with diffractors instead of $100's. Haha, love it!

That's great to hear! Which pattern is the last one?

Just found a fellow RJ collector on eBay and he's sending me pattern #44 , putting me down to 2 needed. He needed #6 & #25 to complete his set, and I happen to have 2 dupe copies of each one of those, gave him the nicer copies.

He also had several '07 Moments & Milestones patterns I was lacking. I'll now be down to needing just ONE card to complete 364 Strikeouts and ONE card away on 294 Strikeouts as well. So close on so many fronts!

I give up. I can't ignore 1998 Topps Tek any longer. I've been holding out with this set for 17 years. This thread was started over 3 years ago and I never read a word of it until today. Of course, I did not read all 205 pages but I did read enough to get me out of my 1998 state of mind where I thought this set was ridiculous and stupid for player collectors like myself. Like so many other times in the past, I was wrong. Now on to adding 89 cards to my ARod collection. Wish me luck.

Current 1998 Topps Tek Alex Rodriguez base card set = 1/90
Current 1998 Topps Tek Alex Rodriguez Diffractor set = 1/90............Unfortunately, staying that way.
