Has anyone done the math on this?

I'll give it a stab, feel free to correct me. (I'm not good with pack odds)

9113 cases = 109355 Boxes = 109355 potential redemption packs (I know this is unlikely...but just doing math)

37 USA Baseball Bowman Chrome Black border #25 = 925 (1:118)
5 Rookies & Prospects #'d 100 = 500 (1:218)
8 USA Buy backs #'d to 100 = 800 (1:136)

Of if you just combine them all together, the chance of hitting autos is 1:49 Redemption packs should yield an auto. Every 4 cases?

Of course, the chances get better if they aren't banking on that many redemptions. Let's assume they only make 3/4 of 1/2 of that. Geesh. I only opened 2...I better get 2 more. :)

Those were my initial numbers in JPs thread but I changed the total print run to reflect 10,000 cases rather than the 9113 cases I calculated, as that is apparently what NECPilgrims was told. After the modifications, I calculated 1:53 packs.

Where are the other 887 cases coming from?10
I just did the math based on the pack odds. Honestly though, I wonder if Topps is making enough based on the production run. Or is it "while supplies last".

I guess we can only do a worst case scenario.

Here's another fun number. Bryce Harper will be 1:1093 redemption packs. Or 1 in every 93 cases redeemed.

Using 10,000 cases...that would be 1 in every 100 cases. Still easier than hitting a Super! ;)

Who knows

There is no way Topps will produce enough packs for each box produced. Take in effect how many people bought single packs not in increments of 18, people that already threw out their packs, and product not opened by 3/11. I will say just over 1/2 of the wrappers will be redeemed. Topps released when the program expires, but not when they will be shipped. Topps may wait toward the end of the program to start packing out these redemptions. In short, Topps won't know how many packs to create til wrappers start coming in.

I agree, but like I said...worst case scenario. I hope you are right because I like those odds better. :)

How many RETAIL packs made? :)

i know this is irrelevant, but just for fun:

using topps 100 gold refractors -
5000 total cards 1:610 hobby, 1:837 retail

assuming the odds on supers are correct and there are 9113 hobby cases
= 1,968,408 hobby packs
/610
= 3227 of the 5000 golds are in hobby, 1773 in retail
1773 x 837 = 1,484,001 total retail packs made

that's 75% the size of the hobby run - and at least 3-4 times the normal retail run for BC

It's towards the bottom of the original post.

I think it's the same addy, just ATTN: BOWMAN CHROME REDEMPTION (instead of the Topps Chrome).

Found it... Here it is:

Wrappers should be sent to:

PO BOX 2230

Duryea, PA 18642

ATTN: Bowman Chrome Promotion

So, this is all a new deal for me.

I have 4 cases worth of wrappers(along with 2 cases worth of wrappers that were tossed because this promo wasn't announced-ugh, oh well).

To send them in, do they need to be at all organized? Or just a big heap of wrappers? I just wasn't sure, and have never done this before-so just thought I'd ask.

what's even funnier is it advertises "look for strasburg autographs" on EVERY retail pack...
even though there are a grand total of 50 base autos in 1.5 million packs. yeah look 'til you
go blind.

Well, I don't take any chances. When I sent my Topps Chrome wrappers in, I put them in sets, paperclipped them, put them in graded sleeves, and then put them in a box. It was a little excessive, but I'm pretty anal like that. I even included a little piece of paper with my address on it along with my receipt.

Honestly, there's no clarification on how to send this stuff in. Everyone does it differently.

Believe it or not, Im happy with the actual redemption program (I hear the gasps coming from some of you).

Now obviously, the fact they waited two days before letting the word out is unthinkable (but Ive said my peace on that) and eventhough I still held out hope that the buy backs were actually inserted (although maybe Im not actually shocked they messed up again), at least they are a part of this redemption.

And I appreciate Jaypers removing his comments about me, lets keep this thread soley on the subject and not let it morph into something it shouldnt be.

Does anyone have the contact information to email Topps? I know I have come across it before, but cannot seem to find it right now.

Thanks in advance.

When sending your wrappers in please use (1) box/package if possible , this will make it easier for my team to handle the redemption process , thus making it more smooth.

Thanks !

What happens if you threw away your wrappers before Topps announced the redemption program but still have everything from the case minus the wrappers?

There is no way even 50% of the total production will be sent in. Many boxes won't be opened in time, many have already thrown packs away and several won't know or care about the redemption promotion. 20-25% will be turned in at most. If there were 9,115 cases made and 25% are redeemed and there are 2,225 total Auto's to get, then if you turn a case worth of wrappers in, you should get 1 of these auto plus half of the black prospect set.

I tried to call Gilmore for comment, but he's too busy scurring around on his floor picking up wrappers to be bothered.

It's a wrapper redemption, not a "everything from the case minus the wrappers".

Who's to say you didn't sell the wrappers to someone else?
