The only shady thing that went on was the bold statements from Razor and FCB mods that Upper Deck had nothing to do with Razor. I don't have a problem with UD funding another company since it benefits both UD and the new company. The problem is that they felt it was something they needed to hide, and lied/tried to cover up the truth.

I only know what I am told.

If I am told wrong, then my statements on the matter will be wrong.

and charlie, i am referring to what the average person at FCB who has kept up with the situation knows. My statements are all within this mircocasam.

FCB Mods only knew what Razor told them.

You can't call it a cover up by the mods if they were reporting what was told to them, regardless of it's actual truth. Whatever wasn't true at the time of the info being passed along, would only have been know for a fact by Razor.

Of course I assumed that Chris  I was referring to this earlier post....
Honestly, I had no clue about any of this. So this blog's contents may be old to most, but was news to me. Thanks!

Make of it what you will.

Your reason to open old cans or worms?

Weak.

Ummmm....he just posted it today?
I thought there might be some interest?
Why do you care?

I just think it's weak to keep opening this can of worms. I don't really care about the issue either way, but it's just so old at this point.

That blog post is still all hearsay and unconfirmed details. Nothing is confirmed absolute fact, so the real answer is - who cares?

Sadly Adam, most don't feel the same way you do about speculation. Look at Sterioids.... How much speculation is put on MANY players, and it NEVER ends.

ESPN's reporters put out BULL$HIT resports all the time that are purely speculation.

Unconfirmed details and reports are just a part of the hobby, and the world as a whole.

I am getting a laugh ou of this, it turns out that Upper Deck IS backing Razor. I pushed that thought months ago and got HAMMERED by 8-10 members on these boards about it. I guess these Razor "insiders" won't look overly intelligent at that point.

I assure you Matt, regardless of this razor - ud and how it all turns out, I am quite intelligent.

It was a great idea to have razor on here, and it did a lot to get people visiting and talking, good or bad.

Gilmo, that wasn't directed at you neccessarily.... It really wasn't. I posted that before reading the whole thread.

I hope we all have learned a lesson, at least i hope. BG was out for himself. He lied to all of you. He also got many to drink the Kool-Aid. And the Kool-Aid included backing the fact that Razor was NOT backed by Upper Deck.

I am not sure what Brian did to get so many people to believe everything he has said, but he has certainly proved to be a someone that is not believable.

I am not implying anyone in particular Adam, and I am not implying you.

There have been many people to back away slightly from their Razor alliance over the last couple of months. But there were many that were STRONGLY pushing the Razor Kool-Aid and backing everything Brian said. I guess that is proving the be fruitless.

Is there some kind of blockade on UD creating a prospect set equivalent to Razor? Why not just have UD Sig Series? Was it simply to shroud the product in mystery? I'm quite confident a UD Sig Series would have outsold Razor tenfold.

Matt, I have drank no kool aid and do not have blind allegiance to anyone including razor.

I am STILL a fan of the concept behind razor. They lacked proper execution in some areas, and if they had of done things a bit differently many people would be out there buying products instead of complaining about them.

I love things that pretty much everyone that has made baseball cards in 2008 did. From aflac autographs in bcdp, to the amount of sleeper prospects in threads and elite, there is truly much to love.

Short answer; Razor was a sponsor. Besides some of the lying that went on about Razor's dealings, this situation doesn't bother me in the least. So they were backed by Upper Deck... so what. JMO

bullcrap

razor being a sponsor had nothing to do with anything.

If you only knew how small the financial commitment that razor had to this site, you wouldn't say such things. If the situation were topps - tristar, and either company would have told me that it simply wasn't true then I would have reacted the same.

Now how many of those things will be around to love in 2009 is the real question.

I'll be the first to say that I do not have ALL of the info.

I do know however, that the "so what?" is the fact that BG & others denied openly and vehemently that UD had anything to do with Razor. It seems to me that a betrayal of trust is what has most ppl upset.

That is a question that I can't answer. I simply don't know enough to do so. I doubt panini will get involved, unless they get the milb deal. And I haven't inquired much about razor's 2009 plans.

I'm still wondering if Panini can pull off EEE using exclusively college and high school photos since they were licensed by the CLC.
