Weird that it's his first Topps Card

Not weird, there's actually a story behind this:

Stan the Man had a contract with Bowman until 1955. Stan wanted more $ from Topps because Bowman paid him more than Topps' standard contract amt. It took until '58 to get Stan to accept the Topps offer lolo.
stan was ahead of his time

Eric, NICE! I won a biggie last night that I will post when it arrives.

Johnny, that looks much nicer than a 4. Issues on back?

Well, I can finally post this. It isn't in hand yet, but it is finally paid off. Top 3 of all my T206's, methinks. My favorite team, with my favorite back, and a HOF portrait to boot!

Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

Some very nice cards, lately. Love the Doerr and Tinker cards. I really remember those 1963 League Leader cards, because I had so many of them. They were in the first series and since they started off the baseball card year (about March, if I remember correctly) all of us bought plenty to get the new cards and the gum. I did my set and gave away all of my dupes to the other kids in the neighborhood.

T206 HOFers are always a good pick up, but a Hindu back makes it even better. It could be Joe Shlabotnik and a Hindu back makes it very nice addition.

Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

I bought two 1958 Yellow Team Letters variation Don Zimmer's today. Both were not listed as Yellows, so I bought them cheap to flip, although the nicer one I may get graded and end up keeping instead of the PSA 5 I have.

Actually, the back in very clean. The only thing I can see that is messy on it is some scuffing on the running horizontally about 1/2 and inch from the top. There are no creases at all either. I may actually cross to SGC and see how it does.
