Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

I have decided on trying to put together a low "type card" collection. The card will probably not be worth much individually, but mayt make a decent slideshow or presentation.

I alrready had the OJ and the T206, but I have been pleased by the general price of vintage "coomns" recently.

That's because they are extremely overworked.

Great pickups...all of them! I especially like the '57 Aaron.

Jay, cool piece. Do you know why all of the players aren't listed?

#3 for my 34 Goudey set came today and it's a biggie...

Thanks! I have no idea why some names are missing. Rookies, maybe?

Congrats on the '34 Foxx.

Thanks, Martin! There is one more Gehrig in the set, and Greenberg and Dean can be a little difficult too.

Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

Martin,
My goal was to get to 100 different by the end of the year, and it looks like I will have no problem doing that. I haven't gotten too many new ones over the past few months, but it's been quality over quantity with the last few I've purchased.

Great pickup, Junior Griffey! That card has everything going for it - sunset, stadium background, clear depiction of the uniform - everything that makes T206s great. GL with the set.

Another Yankee arrived today. Jim Brideweser from the 1953 Bowman Color set.
Notice that the bag, actually looks like a bag or pillow in this photo.

Great point about the base, Danny. If you ever had to go head first in to first base back in the day, that style seems much safer.

A St. Louis Browns example for my N172 project arrived today:
