I've got a question, what exactly are vending boxes? I've received some in the past but I have no idea what they were used for or how they were sold back in the day.

People feel the same way about 80's cards as they do about their kids. They wouldn't take a million dollars for the ones they got but they wouldn't give a nickel for any more.

They were used by vendors or jobbers to fill usually quarter operated machines. Put a quarter in and out pops a couple of cards. I haven't seen one in years but the ones I saw were always buy the candy machines in grocery stores. They were just big boxes various cards from that set. No SPs, hits or autos to worry about. Just base cards. Saved money with less packaging. Set builders used to like them as well.

Anyway, I did find an Al Leiter RC, (which could be the error version, I have to see). Also found some Topps Rookie Trophy cards and all star cards.
Pretty fun!
