More content about hobby related events, cards, sets etc. Either be it through articles or open threads with questions it would be nice to hear more about content versus the typical which prospect is hot threads.

Its always fun to me to learn new things about the hobby, heck I enjoyed a thread recently about why the 1976 Brett is much harder to find in good condition than the 1975 complete with detailed pictures.

Considering how much this board collectively clearly spends in time and money on cards, it would definitely be in the card manufacturers, MLB officials and/or players best interests to want to stop by and answer (pre-screened) questions and share insight.

This is going to sound somewhat ridiculous, and might not even be possible. How about if someone, or two people got together and filmed a weekley video basically recap-ing a week's worth of events that happened on FCB. Think along the lines of Sportscenter, with event and thread breakdowns by analysts. Obviously there would have to be some humor involved at others expense, and done in good fun. It would be made available on youtube for everyone to see.

For the love of Christ let Joshhamilton and Justinmandawg take turns with this.

What is there to liven up?

There's a Bryce Harper thread seemingly ever 6 minutes.
I wonder if there will be even more when he makes it to the bigs....

Nope. Once they make the bigs, most here don't care anymore. Duh. ;)
I was thinking that, LOL. If he does poorly his first few games everyone will call him a bust, and if he plays great everyone will say "Told yah so...future HOF!"

Thank God he's not a Yankee. I don't know if there would be enough bandwidth to handle the ensuing suckfest.

I'm not really a fan of the points per posts suggestion. Many with large post counts have them for being helpful, but I think we all could agree that many have large post counts simply because they like to post and seldom have something useful to say. Do we really want to encourage more useless posts simply so someone can get something?

P :D
Hes looking at you card magnet.

thats pretty rude to say to a great member.

I have a REALLY good one.

Every FCB member with 100 or more posts gets 100 "FCB Points". We can trade, give away or sell these points with/to other members and earn points through FCB contests and such which FCB gets by the way of accepting them as payments or as discounts for the online store. This will make "thanking" another member a really cool thing, because the thanks will have value. Say you really like a post by a member, you give them a couple FCB Points, and if many others do as well, it adds up and they can use those points to give away themselves, sell or trade or use as discounts on FCB store products.

This would rock IMO.

Maybe make 200 points equal to 10% off (or simply a predetermined cash value) at the FCB online store. Then FCB takes that 200 points received and redistributes it with contests and the like. It would be like an FCB currency. Every time a member reaches 100 posts there is 100 more FCB Points into the system.

I'll trade you 200 FCB points for a billion Stanley nickels !!

I don't know if it would "liven" things up but I always thought it would be a cool project to create a picture database of every single card made. Beckett tried this at one point and I think they've since given up, but we have so many people on these boards who have some awesome and rare cards. Wouldn't it be cool to say that we had the most complete database of scans in the world? This type of project would include people from all across the collecting spectrum, not just prospectors or player collectors. Sure, it would involve some work from management in terms of getting the database set and securing some more storage space but I think it would be pretty cool to be able to view scans of some really rare cards without having to go through too much trouble searching for them.

That would be kinda neat to do. Hard part would be getting everyone motivated enough to do it.
