I buy it.
1) I'm 17, so I could use the money.
2) He's a dealer.
3) I wouldn't have realized at the time how much it's worth, as I don't follow 90s inserts. I'd get it to get my first crusade. However, once I saw it got 250, it'd go straight to eBay.
4) Crusades are awesome.

I actually had something kind of like this (well, not that big) happen this summer. I was on vacation and went to a tiny shop. They had the common auto/GU box that I was looking through and had a 2008 Johnny Podres Beam Team auto. Sure, I'll grab a good player's auto for $2.00. Wasn't tell I got home that I looked at the back and it was a 1/1 Platinum refractor. Sold it for $65. Probably would have mentioned something if I had noticed.

I actually have told booksellers if I find a 1st edition in their regular books and, likewise, have told them they are full of it when trying to pawn off non-first editions.

Good thing it was the 1/1 version.Otherwise it would have been a very small flip after fees.I haven't paid too much for the regular, gold ,or the black and white version of his auto.

On another note...sometimes the seller really doesn't care. Now I am sure if its a $250 card then they would but a lot of the times its possible to find a bunch of cards that book $10-$15 , maybe even $25 in the bargain boxes. This is BV of course but I think a lot of the time they just get tired of hauling it around or it collecting dust in their shop so they figure they will let it go cheap just to get it out of their stock.I pick up a ton of autos, gu, and patches from my local shop and rarely pay more than $5 a pop because he gets tired of seeing them. Some of these I could definitely flip. But he doesn't fool with ebay and if its not one of the major stars(A-Rod, Pujols, Jeter, Griffey) or a local player then he has a hard time moving them.

I would buy it and move on.

Sellers responsibility to price stuff correctly. What would that same seller say if you told them that the last 5 sales they made ripped the customer off?

I rarly visit card shows since there are never any around my area, but many of the times I go to them I get huge steals on Ryan cards that only I know the value of. I cold tell them what they sell for on ebay, but that same card if sold on the street, after I let them know the value could sit in ther box for 100 years.
