a variety of singles from low end to high end. All sports. I hate going into a shop and they've got mid 90's inserts and washed up game used and autos. A good variety of singles is a great thing.

But what would you like to see in a card shop?
From products, supplies, to the store's appearance, to events happenings in a shop.
What are your reasons to go to a card shop...
Thanks

You need what most people said, lots of different products, good selection of singles, but most important I think is you want it a place people will want to hang out in. The place I went to all the time in NY had trade night, pack wars & 2 cases where customers were able to sell THEIR cards....pretty cool. That guy had a great following, because it was like a bar for card collectors. Also, maybe try to start a monthly or bi-monthly show - none of them down here either. Gotta go down to almost Miami for an only fair show.

This is a good idea. This is something I will do.matchpenalty said:Love drop zone boards. Where each week you lower prices on cards $5, just never know who else may be eyeing cards are when to make a move. Keeps people coming in every week to check it.

For whatever reason, this is really funny to me. Wish I could thank you twice for it. Nice work.

-Rotate singles in your showcases as much as possible. No one likes looking at the same cards every time they come in.
-Orginization. One of my tables has boxes orginized like this:
$2 box (BV generally 6-15)
$1 box (BV 3-6..a few nicer cards "sneak" in there from time to time)
$.50 box (base and inserts of stars and semi stars)
A seasonal box...right now it's 2010 NFL rc's with cards priced as marked
Another table:
Cheifs/Royals box
KU/K-State box (I'm in Topeka, KS)
Superstars of Sports box- mega stars (Jeter, Favre, Lebron, etc) orginized by player and priced as marked
-New Wax. Well stocked new wax. And packs of course.
-Pack Wars. Last Thursday of every month. It normally gets 7-10 guys in the shop on a Thursday night spending money.
-Monthly giveaway. I just started this month. Every $20 a customer spends gets a name in the drawing the prize is a pack of every product that came out during that month. My first drawing is tonight.
I want to to some kind of giveaway, but I think in Florida, you can't make them buy to get in the drawing (kind of no purchase necessary thing) so the way I may do it is, everyone who comes in the store gets into the raffle and then if they but something, then I they get more chances.
-Magic The Gathering. Hands down one of my biggest sellers.
-Wi-fi. When I'm slow, I'm normally listing on Ebay and Sportlots.
-CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just be a nice guy. It definitely pays off.
I always had a great personality when I go to shows
And I love the idea for the Drop Zone. I may have to try that.
