The only thing I thought would still be there are his 95 mph gas, crippling cutter, and nasty hook.

Go Sox!!!!!! 3-1!!!!!

And yet the thing they claim is usually there is missing. Very strange. You would think they would make it a point to show people to shut them up.

Sweet Sox up 3 games to 2.

Lester is 3 - 0 in WS games.

He pitched very well tonight with no walks and one ER in7 and 2/3 innings.

I just heared that babe Ruth and jon Lester are the only 2 Rex Sox players to win 2 world series games...(as pitchers)

Almost.
They're the only two left-handed Red Sox pitchers to win two games in a World Series.
Bruce Hurst won two games during the 1986 World Series.

But it makes sense there has been so few 2-game winners, since the Sox went 80+ years without winning a championship.

The stage is set for Lackey to win the biggest game of his life on Wednesday. His redemption in Boston will be 100% complete if he can clinch it and out-duel the young upstart (Wacha)!

I'm in a pickle- have game 7 tix but not game 6. Doubt I will be able to land them. Oh well, hoping Sox wrap it up on Wednesday. These last 4 games have been gut wrenching. I would expect the same for game 6.

Hopefully you won't need to use them! :)

The only gut-wrencher is losing on an obstruction call with the runner thrown out at the plate. Hopefully it fueled the fire enough to put the Cards away on Wed.

He has experience clinching World Series championships so I am very confident with him on the mound. Amazing how he has thrown 210 innings this year after 0 innings last year....and he still looks just as strong as he has all season. It will be nice to have Napoli back in the lineup even though Ortiz did a great job manning first.

Lester pitched amazing yet again tonight....he lives for these games. No way Ross doesn't play in game 6, gotta roll with what's been working. How about Boegarts? Man that kid is impressive, he is a guy who you can see contributing on this team for a long long time. Boston is going to be crazy for game 6, 95 years since we have had the chance to clinch it at Fenway. (Carl Mays was the pitcher, CG 1ER)

Koji has walked just one of his last 149 batters faced. Insane.
Boggles my mind. Only recent pitcher like that is 05' Carlos Silva (remember him?) 9BB in 188IP. To me, I absolutely love that because I can't stand when relief pitchers come in the game and walk batters...at the very least throw it near the middle of the plate and pitch to contact. Koji not only locates his fastball, but his splitter looks like his fastball coming right in the zone and just drops straight down. He has been a treat to watch all season. Remember when he was named closer and everyone was concerned that he wouldn't be able to pitch in back to back games and he would get worn down by the end of the year? Ha, now he is pitching back to back to back games, handful of outs, etc...I knew he would have no problems doing that because he keeps his pitch count so low. I can't remember the last time we have had this automatic of a closer.

Should be a duel. I hope we at least force Game 7.
Going to be a great pitching matchup. Wacha is very impressive at his age. Playoffs, World Series....doesn't seem to matter to him, he just goes about his business. Going to be another low scoring 1 run game if you ask me, that's why this game was such a huge win for the Sox.

Good news is the series goes back to Boston. Bad news is the Cards start Wacha, kid has beeen amazing.

On a side note, I really enjoy seeing all the sportsmanship on the field. Ross and and Molina acknowledging each other and Papi with praise for the opposition. Good stuff

I agree- this has been a great series from a sportsmanship perspective. Given that both teams have 2 titles in last 10 years, there is no 88 years of pent-up-frustration in the air (from the Boston side of things).

I may have to go down to Fenway on Wednesday just because of this info you posted.

A friend's dad here in my hometown in NH has season tix @ Fenway (since 1977, I think he told me), so I will try my best to get a ticket too! Only problem is I have numerous people expecting me at a huge Halloween party too. Ugh.
