It will be very difficult for me to watch any Yankees game with that clown in pinstripes.

I hope this doesn't go through. Manny only did well last season because he knew it was a contract year. Once signed, he will go back to being "Manny".

I am a yankees hater who lives 1 hr from the Stadium. As a baseball fan though i think it would be fun to watch A lineup that would go, Damon , Jeter Arod and manny. I just think watching Manny and Arod would be sick. Comical , but i would tune in alot more to watch those 2 hit back to back. BUTTTT the question is not what they would do in April, but rather then in October, Manny will hit, that is a given, but i think it would be interesting to watch how Arod would perform with that protection.

Salary Cap soon to be in place because of the Yankees and there way of trying to buy a Championship, but most likely they won't even win. :P

I am not at all jealous in the least of the Yankees. Kinda feel bad for them spending so much and producing so little.

I am serious that there will be a salary cap soon. They have to make it for teams like Kansas City and Pittsburg can also stay competitive. The MLB does not want to lose money because no one is watching the Royals because they can't compete with the Yankees money.

If they want to be competitive, they can start by spending more of the revenue sharing dollars they receive. There is no reason to have a payroll of $40 million when you receive $50 in revenue sharing alone. Fix that first, then there will be stronger legs to stand on for a salary cap (even though it will never get done because the MLBPA runs baseball, not the other way around).

are you kidding me , I sure hope so. the Royals and pirates and the other small market teams cant compete? the correct statment would be they choose not to compete, why you ask? its pretty simple . they choose to put the luxury tax monies that they recieve from ball clubs like the Yankees in there friggin pocket and not re-invest the newly found money into players that may give them a chance to win. MLB should make the ball clubs that recieve luxury tax money to put it back into the team salary.

Yes but they don't have an owner like the Yankees who are willing to hand out the money and when they don't see 50,00 fans like the Yankees there is not enough money to put into the team and make a profit. Sabathia's contract is going to set the standards now and probably be raised when more top tier pitchers come on the market, and guess who will raise that bar (Yankees). They will make it for no one can compete with them besides the Red Sox which may not happen if the Yankees keep uping their payroll.

The NHL did the same thing (Salary Cap) to make teams like Florida and Nashville able to compete.

Look what happened too. The team that caused it won it all the first year of the cap.

Not that I'm complaining. ;)
