Not A's fan, but since Rickey played for them I'll pick A's. Rickey of course, Rollie (wouldn't that stache be a bitch to carve?) Eck and Reggie. Vida and Campy might also be deserving and I don't mean any disrespect to either but they were before me and I don't know much about them. Maybe not Reggie because he was great, but I always think of him as a Yankee.

Did the Yankees fans in this thread forget about DiMaggio or do you guys really not rank him that high.

Again...let me preface this next statement with "I hate the Yankees", but their history cannot be denied and quite honestly, they would need an entire mountain range to pay just homage to the number of all time great players they have had.

Cardinals-

I'd put:

Musial, Hornsby, Pujols, Bob Gibson.

In 10 years I feel Pujols has justified his inclusion on this list and people always tend to forget Hornsby but he is the greatest right handed hitter of all time.

I have to agree, but it is so hard to leave Ozzie off.

The Giants are tough, many hugh stars in the teens and twenties and then again in the '60's.

New York Giants
McGraw, Mattewson, Ott, Terry, Hubbell

San Fancisco Giants
Mays, McCovey, Marichal, Bonds, Lincecum

Tigers:

Ty Cobb
Hank Greenberg
Charlie Gehringer
Al Kaline

and in 10 years Verlander gets added, either in addition to the above or by sandblasting one off

Twins

Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Kirby Puckett, Harmon Killebrew

I saw this thread and was thinking about the Twins. Puckett, Killer, and Carew were the no-brainers, but you could definitely make the argument for Hrbek in the 4th slot.

Tony Oliva
15 Years as a Twin
.304/.353/.476
1917 Hits
220 HR
8 All-Star Appearances
2nd Place MVP(Twice)
4th Place MVP(Once)

Kent Hrbek
14 Years as a Twin
.282/.367/.481
1749 Hits
293 HR
1 All-Star Appearance
2nd Place MVP
2 World Series Championships
Stellar Defense

Blyleven would beat them both out if he would have been a Twins longer. I think Oliva's three MVP type seasons and 8 All-Star appearances slightly trump Hrbek playing on multiple World Series champions, but I'd be okay with either one being the 4th representative.

It's amazing that the Tigers have for the most part stayed a half way respectable team with little to no star power other than Kaline going back 80 years. Since Kaline retired they haven't had anyone who's even had serious HOF consideration other than Morris, and I'll admit even he is a stretch.

Tony Fernandez for the Jays?
Jimmie Foxx for the A's?

Fernandez was my 5th. I loved him but in my mind, there's no way to put him ahead of Stieb, Alomar, Delgado, or Halladay.

Lou Boudreau, Bob Feller, Tris Speaker, and.... Omar Vizquel? Early Wynn? Ricky ‘Wild Thing’ Vaughn? It's the Indians, so many great choices to choose from...

I would pick Rivera because like Ruth he is the greatest of all time at his position by a HUGE margin.

I know where you're coming from, and I know that you love him, but... the greatest of all time by a HUGE margin? Let's wait until he has at least tied the record for most saves... he's going to do it, sure, so I'll let you say he's the greatest of all time a few days early. But it's going to be about 5 years before he gets to that HUGE margin status.
