Wonder if anyone is sitting on a large Bautista stash? You could have bought his chrome autos for pennies at the start of the year.

So what is the Bautista "card to have"? What is his best card?

Check out what this Red Auto /5 sold for recently - [phil:1aetf9er]150474527725[/phil:1aetf9er], in fact, if you check all the completed listings for Bautista 2006 Chrome I think the sales you see show that many are still skeptical.

That being said, can't think of a card I'd like much more than a Red Ref Auto - although the 2002 Chrome Parallels are nice too - [phil:1aetf9er]140433562905[/phil:1aetf9er]

This was a BIN sale, correct? I have a feeling the seller left quite a few dollars on the table.

I bet the red seller still made good money considering what it probably cost him to pick it up.

I'm positive it could be picked up for under $50 preseason, if not under $30.

To help answer the question about where did all this power come from. I think two things. Bautista didn't have a defined position/role on any of his teams, heck he was on 4 different teams in 2004. He now has a role and is considered a leader. Also, and I think the biggest reason, is Cito, Cito is an excellent hitting coach (yes I know he is the Manager) he has a nack at getting players to hit and hit with power. Now does this translate for more than one year, not sure but for know, as a Jays fan, I am enjoying it.

I've posted this before but Bautista's had a very odd career path. Any scouting report has always stated he had a good deal of power. But early in his career he lost a full season to being ****** around as a Rule 5 guy and then suffered through two fairly serious hand injuries which everyone knows saps power. While this is obviously a career year, it's probably not as shocking as many people think. Many people predicted he'd hit 25 this year given full playing time, so it's not like he's a slap hitter.

What has stunned me is his outfield defence. I don't recall ever seeing a more accurate arm in right. Stronger arms, yes (Barfield), but Bautista, whether going to second, third, or home, just nails the glove every time.

Just hit his MLB leading 34th homer. 10 straight series with a homer  Ties him with Delgado for the most straight series on the Jays.
