If you redeem, I would be interested to know how they ship and if you have any duty/fee troubles with UPS/Fedex. UPS charges some ridiculous prices for bringing over items of any value from the states... I would be curious to see if Topps has some arrangement so they take care of all the fees.
Congrats! I think I know which buyer you got it from...from RH right? Same guy I use in Canada.
BTW do you or any one else know the safest way to deliver from Canada for high end cards to get full ebay/paypal protection? Always wondered about this, but never pulled a very high end card to...
Hey everyone, haven't posted in a long time since I've been in Japan for the past 2 years. Anyways, I'm back home in Canada now and decided to try my luck on 2 boxes of 2011 bowman hobby. Here are my results:
International - Veterans and RC
Lucas Duda
CC Sabathia
Derek Jeter
Trevor Cahill...
along with aaron hill, adam lind is another jay who had great numbers last year, but is also very cheap to collect...he's also young and is part of the jays future so there will be lots of things to collect
I don't like it plain and simply because more often then not, it looks ugly. Sometimes it looks ok if the sig was against a solid coloured background (ie the example of the fleer card shown earlier). Also, if the player is still living, it makes it worse as they could have just gotten them to...
I think Toronto still finishes ahead...even with the loss of Halladay, they still have pretty good pitching. I guess it also depends on how well lind, hill, snider, and wells (expecting at least some sort of rebound) perform.
I find that SCF is good for trading low end cards (especially for set building) and have had success in that regard.
I wouldn't mind sending cards to someone with high feedback before being paid if it wasn't too much money, but I do see the concern. I guess it depends on who you are trading...
I busted one case of Indiana Jones Heritage from the black friday sale. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that 3 boxes were duds so I only got 5 hits. I did get 2 nice sketches though and a short round auto! Here are the hits below. The artists of the sketches are Paul Gutierrez...
1st post of the thread, refresh at the bottom... they update the first post with every new deal coming at the bottom, also shows the time of each deal
edit: by thread, i mean the official one in the blowoutcards forum
Got into the sale late and havent gotten anything yet...should have pulled the trigger on the 08 projections :(
anyone know if there is going to be a lunch break? :p ... i need me some food but dont want to miss the deals
Its a close one but I think with the strong showing by Gonzalez this year, I take him over Teix at this point. He has the better defense, slightly younger, and put up monster numbers in a pitchers park.
Actually Teix was a pretty poor fielder this year with a UZR/150 of -4.1 . Morales should have taken the award. Jeter was pretty good this year but still should have gone to someone like andrus who was much better.
if you dont mind the risk, send in a bubble mailer first class ...one card should come out to about 1.25-1.50 from my experiences. if you want tracking, it'll cost a lot more
edit: noticed its many cards....still shouldnt be all that more expensive...most likely about $2
This topic is just ridiculous...any one player is better than another player if you take small sample sizes. Howard shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as pujols.
While we are on the topic, i dont get why ppl use RISP with 2 outs as a clutch situation. In fact, the whole concept of...
AL
MVP- Joe Mauer (and it should be with ease)
ROY-Jeff Niemann (a bit closer than the others , but he has better numbers than porcello)
Cy Young - Greinke (also should be a no doubter)
Comeback Player- Aaron Hill ( monster year after a concussion)
