The 1998 Topps Tek Thread

A collector over on the Blowout boards states he knows a Frank Thomas collector who has completed the entire 90 card diffractor set. I really hope this is true and he's able to get some proof of it!

I have the following available, let me know if interested in anything. This is a mix of 98 and 99 but mostly 98. I am helping a friend unload a HUGE collection and found a ton of Tek's so if you are looking for anyone in particular let me know. I dont think anyone has all 90 of the Thomas Diffractors nor any other player for that matter. The closest I know is some guy who had around 70 David Justice 98 TEK Diffractors as of about a year or two ago. The most I have of any one player is 14 Richard Hidalgos (whoopee) but I gave up chasing the diffractor as a fruitless chase and have only been able to finish one 90 card mixed diffractor set with 14 to go for a second. I might focus on finishing my second mixed 90 card diffractor set but as you guys know people bid them up so Im too cheap to get caught up in that. My latest hoarding distraction is Focus 2000 Fleer Focus Masterpiece Manias with each of the 250 cards in the set card numbered to 300. Not a particularly popular set (But I like thme) and Ive been buying them for buck each for years and have 5 complete 250 card mania sets with each numbered to 300 with two others with 25 and 75 to go. Wont ever finish # 7 though

So here's is an updated list as of July 19, 2014 of my condition upgrade want list (Must be mint with no scratches, peeling, watermarks, black dots, peeling or chipping of the edges of the gray oval on the back.of the card or mis-alignment of the card #/pattern# within the oval on pick (Picky Picky yeah I know)

I agree. Think I would have heard of something like that a long time ago. There are player collectors with large 98 Tek diffractor collections of Justice (Stu Thomas has a nice web site of this collection, the biggest diffractor collection that I know of--70 sounds about right), Matt Williams (links with the Justice web site), Bonds (Jeff Mazur is around 60 of Bonds). Other than those, don't know anyone else that has more diffractors than my collection of 56 of Manny Ramirez or 52 of Roger Clemens. But I have been consistently outbid for big Frank diffractors over the years, so not saying it's impossible.

Alright last time I highjack the thread but it's for a good reason - trying to get you all the Tek's you need!

I've sold to a number of members so far and finally have my comprehensive list of 98's and 99's. Let me know what you need. I'm moving a MASSIVE collection but am trying to fill the holes in your Tek collection before I get to the huge stuff... in other words, I'm hardly making any money on these and just want to pay it forward the best way I can. A few of these are gone but for the most part the majority of the list remains. Hope I can help!
