93PinnacleJoeDiMaggioAuto.jpg

Hey all,

I'm looking to pick up one of these 1993 Pinnacle Dimaggio Autos. I know they are an odd shaped card and this is a concern of mine. Finding a case to fit it in could be a pain. I saw a few that were graded and encased and that seems to be the way to go. But the ones I meant to bid on ended last night and there are none on ebay now. That basically leaves my options to either:
a) a raw version or
b) an unopened box.

Either way I'd have to send it in to get graded myself. I'm not super concerned with the condition of the card, as long as there are no huge issues. I'm more concerned with the condition of the auto. Its seems the unopened boxes are actually cheaper. Are there issues with the condition of the cards coming from the unopened boxes?

Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks!![/quote]

Quick question guys, that card looks slightly larger than the normal sized 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 sized cards, is that true? Are they 3x5 or so?

Can anyone explain why there are 89 of the #2/5 are graded while only 14, 15, 16 and 12 of the others are graded?

It's definitely larger. Width wise, its looks the same, the height is larger. Not exactly sure by how much. That's why I'm gonna get it slabbed by BGS.

Glad to see people are finally buying these. I never understood why people pay more for the Prime Cuts cut autograph when you can get the actual full on-card autograph for so much cheaper.

Yeah, this is one of those "no-brainer" cards to get (at this price point). I just had to get it w/o the stupid sales tax that D&A charges for NY residents!

what are the size dimensions for the DiMaggio in question

Got mine today, sized at 2.5" (standard card width) x 4.125"

Comes with a couple of small Pinnacle COA's, a protective sleeve and a reflector that when you put over the back it either shows "rainbow" colors or "Dimaggio" depending on how you hold it.

Autograph is clear but just ever so light or faded.

I think I now have an "on-card" auto of every HOFer who has an "on-card" auto (ie. not a cut)......
