People who are buying this at that price aren't thinking about Stras' season being done. Just like the people who bought 2010 Bowman at over $250 weren't thinking that even with Stras in there the odds were way stacked against them to even get half of their money back. Its a solid product and will sell as such. I wouldn't be shocked if cases of this touch $2,000...before release.

It isn't joe blow watching sports center, its the same ole collectors that it's always been.


Sure, they hype brings in the fringes, but the backbone is still us.

Not that I wish injury on someone I don't know, but if Stras tore an ACL, or need TJ surgery, or had some season ending injury... I wonder what would happen to these prices...

I have taken a break from buying and selling. Just felt like I was becoming a slave to ebay and the transactions threads here. Sold all my $trasburgs, my Dominic Browns and my Tate Chrome auto. Was thinking about maybe getting a few boxes of the Chrome when it hit, but man, $92.92 pre-sell? No way I'm buying any now. Thanks for making my mind up early to stay away. I rarely opening anything cept Bowman and Bowman Chrome. Not this year.

Well, let's thin kabout it. Base chrome is usually $60-68 out of the gate. . it can go up, it can go down.

Add in Strasburg factor. What would a base one go for, if not SP'ed? $250? $350? $400? So, let's say you pull a Strasburg in your case. With at least 20, if not more, autos in the set, you'll be lucky to pull a Stras - probably 1 per 2 cases at best. So if you're paying $83 * 12, or just over a grand, for a case, and you get that 1 per 2 case pull, you better hope it's a gold or higher, otherwise, you ain't gonna get $600 for the rest of your chrome cards, on average.

Look at 2009 Chrome out of the gate vs. 2010 at $1100 a case. If 2009 was $700 or so, and 2010 is $1100 -- is the Stras factor worth another $400?

If it goes for $400, and you have a 1:2 case change of pulling it (not including the parallel versions), proabably not.

I can’t imagine many ‘collectors’ paying 1.1k/case, $400+ more than '07 bc got w/the timmy/joba hype shortly before release
