hes only 33, 400 already, could he hit 600 and not make the HOF?
Dunn will not be in the HOF.
Then see Ozzie Smith's hitting stats!People need to realize that just because a guy reaches a milestone in one category (500hr, 3000 hits, etc) but doesnt produce in any other category except said one, that does not make them a HOFer.
It means they stuck around long enough to accumulate that certain statistic while being marginal everywhere else

This is why milestone numbers should mean nothing when it comes to HOF voting. It's about the entire package unless the player is far and above better than everyone else in specific categories at their position. In Dunn's case, he has never even led the league in HR's or RBI (yes, he is leading in HR's this year). Even with the HR's, he's never had more than 106 RBI in a season. Dunn has never even finished in the Top 20 in MVP voting. Regardless of how many HR's he finishes with, Dunn should never be a HOFer.
I do not care if a player has a .180 liftime Avg and a full time DH and sucks in the field. Reggie Jackson holds the most strikeout record [2597],sucked in the field has 563 HR's and a .262 batting avg.soooo a guy that hits 600 HR's and in no way tied to P.E.D.'s that does not make the HOF.What the hell is wrong with ya'll. NUMBSKULLS!
Buy the way Dunn will be lucky to get to 500 HR's much less 600.
P.S. The WIZ sucked at the plate and is a HOFer. 28 HR's and a .328 SLG. that truly sucks!
While I agree with you on the first part, what makes you think Dunn can't get to 500? He's only 33 and only needs 104 HR to go. he could reach that in 3 years.
This is what people said about Andruw Jones a few years ago!
But of course the HOF is not only about stats, perhaps there are other ways Dunn can distinguish himself in the eyes of voters.
Then see Ozzie Smith's hitting stats!
...players with 15 times as many plate appearances as strikeouts:
