With the Dodgers still making moves, and expanding their luxury tax bill, I hate Melky even more.

I see.I don't recall Loney getting enough playing time to earn a GG.
Ellsbury's value is not based off his HR totals. Just sayin'....
I see.
I know Loney is not a power hitter, but what does he bring to the plate? Anything of value?
I wonder where he will be slotted in the lineup....6th maybe?
Ron, there's something to be said about clubhouse chemistry, though. The Giants obviously have it (not that the otherworldly pitching staff doesn't help!). I am "forced" to watch the Giants darn near every night, and it's obvious to me that these guys really enjoy playing together. They also have a hugely supportive fan base, and I believe that goes a long way with those guys. With the Dodgers still making moves, and expanding their luxury tax bill, I hate Melky even more.
If this trade goes through does it mean that the Sox sign Ellsbury long term?
Yeah the Sox have no one in the farm system to play first besides Gomez (and Ortiz) to play 1B if Gonz and Punto get traded. Loney will start obviously, but that's not great depth, lol. They spent 2-3 years courting Gonzo, deal away Rizzo and Lars, and now he may be headed out of town? Frustrating!
Sox will make a nice run at Hamilton. Although, not sure he would work in Boston. Ellsbury will net them a good player or two. Have to give Ben credit for getting these guys out of Boston who don't want to be here and stealing money.
Sox fans are so feed up with this bozo no class team. Rumor was the Pesky funeral was last straw. Wouldn't even be surprised if Pedroia gets moved this off season. Team needs a fresh start without these players thinking they run the team.
Ellsbury can be healthy long term, assuming he doesn't get run into by teammates or fallen on by second basemen. So what would it be based on, his inability to stay healthy from year to year? No way he signs an extension, Boras wants him to go free agency. As a Sox fan, I don't want him for the money he is going to want. I don't personally believe he is a 32 HR guy and if you think he contract is not going to reflect that, you are crazy.
Yeah no kidding. It would be weird watching the Sox without Pedroia.Good lord if I that happens my head is going to explode.
So, if the white sox trade Crawford, GOnzo, Beckett, and ellsbury (as some are requesting), your team is less talented than the Orioles. Where do they go from here? And I would suggest laying off the pipe dream of Josh Hamilton.

Looks like Ortiz came off the DL too early, you see him leg out that double earlier? Yikes...but yeah he will be re-signed.I know an honest mistake, but it's the Red Sox.
Also who else is a big FA next year, no way the Sox don't make some big splash in the off season.
Person that comes out of this the best IMO is David Ortiz.
