Whatever happened to just liking cards, regardless of who made them, and not caring about all the behind the scenes BS?

Its become a business and when people invest rather than collect this is what comes along.

So if UD was running Razor, then why did things go down the way they did, I mean the product release methods were poor, quality was horrendous and communication with the market was bad. If I was the owner of a company (UD owning Razor) and I had tons of prior experience in the same market, I think I'd make sure those things didn't happen.

I'm not denying that something is going on, I'm just saying it doesn't seem to add up.

Agreed, i just don't see why if UD had control, the simple problems like release and QC would be problems.

I don't understand the part about QC. You are referring to the company that has put out "Sweet Spot" autos that have faded still in the boxes (or tins). And some after a few years are completely gone.

The QC problems with Razor seemed more extreme than just fading sweet spot autos. Maybe not in terms of value, but the majority of signature series cards were in terrible condition upon release.

I would rather have chipping and/or off centered than have a card that the main part of it is gone in a year or two.

Have you ever looked at the condition on sweet spot cards? or USA autos?

The ones I have are superior to the razor signature cards I have.

The memo is quite legit.

As to the allegations in the memo, some of those are a bit muddy.

Which is muddy?

1) That McWilliam provided cash that funded Razor
or
2) That McWilliam has de facto control over the company?

i dont believe 2 at all

OK thanks. But if that's what you believe...that doesn't really make either more or less muddy.

Waiting for word from someone involved seems to be the way to go.

I don't necessarily disagree, but with both, the value is killed. One is in fine condition for 2 years, one comes out of the pack damaged. I guess because I am a prospector and usually move cards within 2 years i'm not effected by what happens to a card in 2 years.

UD has had horrible QC in Exquisite stuff. Very badly chipped corners edges. Even look at the Tiger auto just pulled. It looks pretty bad. UD Black is just as bad, maybe worse.

Assuming thats true, then i retract my statement wondering about why Razors QC was so bad. None of the UD stuff I have has QC issues so i was just wrong to assume that their product was up to par.

I don't like UDs QC, but Exquisite isn't their fault. They are all ultra thick cards, all signed on card, and have thick heavy patches.

+1 - I think you have to take into account the fact that the cards themselves are handled several times before they reach the consumer level.

But in Football and Baseball it is the premier product, you really cant touch them in terms of how amazing those cards can be.
