Believe the last two golds that sold do not have a serial # /50. Think the one seller has listed/sold at least 5 of them now the past few months. Too bad they are even out there.

maybe im missing something here, but why does everyone think this card will get 1000+ ?
i dont follow spring training much, but did he pitch a no hitter or something?
unless the hype here runs the price up, i wouldnt even see the card getting the 5 balloons back.

The card probably won't get a grand, unless somebody goes toe to toe with Wossa who wants it for some reason, but it's a mortal lock for $750, IMO.

This card has been sought for a long time and this will be its first "official" appearance. Cards like this usually sell for the most the first time they sell, unless a guy gets Heyward hot.

And the people in here coming back to "lower" the price for JP are just as bad as the people artificially attempting to generate bid interest. Let the natural course of action run its natural course. And I say that as a person who would like to see the person who wants the card the most to get it. Not simply the person who can afford to spend the most.

I agree with most everything you said here. There are a lot of reasons people want this card. There are 10-15 guys on here who have been buying him since release including myself. You have rays fans, you have prospectors, you have Rob who is the freaking AD from hellickson's school and has the best reason on these boards for wanting it, and then you have family members. There is no reason to artificially pump up the price on anyone, the auction will do that on its own.

Just my two cents

Personally, I believe this perticular card falls in to a rare catagory which can not be equated to lesser paralells. It happens from time to time, when a prospect/player has a small following, enough to keep most of his cards at a low, reasonable price. But when dealing with the super rare, one of one, types like the superfractor, it only takes this small fanatic crowd to show an explosion on a card like this. Of course it depends on the pockets of the small group trying to buy as well.

I do believe we are going to see a $1000+/- sale here.

Im guessing this was directed at me, and if it was you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Not my intention at all because I asked what the hype was about. I thought I must have missed something crazy that the guy did, whether he was named the #1 starter in their rotation or pitched a not hitter or something. I hope the guy gets a million bucks forn the card, but I still dont understand a gold ref gets $60 and its a lock for the card to bring over 1K, it just sounds ridiculous.

This card doesn't have to be Autographed to have appeal. This is a 2006 BC RC Super of a guy who has NO other cards besides Just Minors. How many other Top 25 Prospects have only one card issue? Hellickson parallels don't command as much as they should because he'll have several new issues later this season and probably some Autographs. And the guys who said a Gold Ref sold for $60, that was an unnumbered Gold Ref. Look at the prices of un-numbered vs. numbered for 2006 BC Golds. Someone found a whole stash of extra Gold Refs and has been selling them on Ebay for years and people are finally starting to realize that the un-numbereds were not pulled, but swiped. As for Hellickson's spring, I'd say he has impressed....2.2IP 0H 0R 0ER and 6K, that's 6/8 outs by Ks, also 1.2 of those IP were against the Yankees starters. Super if listed on Sunday night for a 7-day auction will sell for $885.75, just my guess.

I don't think it will hit 1k, but if it does, even better for you man. I know it's his only card, but being non auto'd, i don't think you will double your money. But good luck!

Hey everyone. The card has just been listed. Unfortunately, I was at work later than expected tonight. Here is the link. [ebay:2c00952z]250597877117[/ebay:2c00952z]

At this point, I honestly am not that worried about how much, if any, profit I make. I just do not want to lose money (hence the $499 starting bid) and I hope this card goes to the right person. Good luck to everyone on here who wants this card. And again I will not be ending this auction early to ensure everyone has a fair shot.

Thank you all again for all of your comments and advice. Hopefully I can add a nice Crawford superfractor to my collection one day, because they are really nice cards.
