I love how many people in this thread are upset and talking trash about Montero or Pineda. Depending on who they have stashes of or what team they're a fan of. Gotta love big trades. Brings out the best in people.

Look this deal was clearly done to give Danny Hultzen the opportunity to be the ACE coming out of Spring Training

Only a prospector would forget about Felix Hernandez.

Not a prospector but he will flame out in a year or two anyways with arm injury and even if he doesnt Hultzen is a superior talent that will knock him off #1

Well, then you must be a UVA die-hard, because there is no way an objective observer would consider Hultzen the M's ace.

Now, nope but in a few years yes as he has that kind of talent.

Again like I said above mark it down by end of 2014 season Ill pay up

He's a Hultzen die-hard. But there's not anything wrong with that, because I think the kid is legit too and wish I could collect him.

What again is the fascination with Pineda?
He started last year hot, but stunk in the second half.
He had a 5.12 era in his ten starts after the All-Star break.
I have no interest in him or Montero, so I'm just asking a sincere question.
Is it his age and potential?

would have thanked.

pineda will just be another joke starting in NY.
not sure about montero in seattle, but i guess
no one was watching him tear the cover off the ball
last september while pineda was sucking.

yay, great trade

There are lots of other MLB Pitchers rather have over next couple years than Hernandez

Future Cy Young winner for a DH. A damn good DH, but still a good DH I hate this trade.

Thanks Topps!

why our you sarcastically thanking Topps. They didnt make this trade that made Montero collectors cry an Pineda Collectors jump for joy. Most Montero collectors should of sold most the collection with he was called up an hit his first homerun.

I can't speak for Blanning, but I feel the same way - because Jose Campos doesn't have any cards yet!

He's scheduled to have one in 2012 Bowman, but so much for buying him cheap. Thanks, Topps.

Actually, it ends up being a great move by Topps. Another autograph that can help carry the product.

Campos is scheduled to have a base card, not an autograph.

Well then Topps screwed prospectors and themselves, which they've been pretty good at the last couple of years.

I wasn't saying anything about Felix. I was just mentioning you're a Hultzen fan like I am. ;)

As a Mariners fan I am both stoked and sad to see this trade go down. Sad because of the fun and success it was/would be to keep Pineda going on our pitching roster but stoked because we need a great hitter AND a tremendously good catcher. We have had "bad seeds" for awhile when it comes to catchers and what they should produce for a team. Our pitching team IS NOT dependant on just one or two pitchers and we have (biasedly) what it takes to "allow" someone like Pineda to go for a trade for what I would consider "equal" youth for Montero.

With all that aside...I can't wait to see the value rise in this card I pretty much stole from the bay a couple months ago 8-)

Now would be a great time to list it with a high BIN/BO if you don't want to keep it for your Felix collection.
