2 solutions:

1). get multiple monitors
2). stick with the one monitor and just tile your windows so you can have both.

Problem solved. :)

But to the heart of your point, yes, spending 90 minutes searching for naked women on the internet would have been more enjoyable than reading this sad tale of woe. Or at least you'd be able to have a happy ending to that other 90 minutes...

I've been following all the info on mama bear and this is what I've taken from everything.

He was either trying to make a name for himself in the card world with cheap prices, or:

Step by step

1. Form a corporation (or LLC) <--- both are cheap
2. Sell pre sales of product cheap, make good on most to build trust
3. Oversell as much as you can, hey it means more $$
4. Cash out on your oversold sales
5. Bail out (personal assets are protected)

Sounds like a win win situation for him

I was tempted on getting a case of Sterling from him but after reading all of the posts about him on different websites I never pulled the trigger. It wasn't worth the hassle of getting my money back from my CC company.

Only thing I learned from this thread?

Never. Trust. Bears. They are terrible, heartless killing machines.

Instead of you sitting there spending your time attacking my comments, why don't you spend it in a more constructive manner?

Regards.

Such as what? Signing up and basically rubbing it in other faces you got yours? Thats very constructive of yourself, thank you. Do yourself a favor and just stop. While I have zero in on this clown and his scams you really arent doing anything. At least not what you thought you where going to do by signing up and "not" defending him. And please stop with the victim role YOU SIGNED UP HERE and you can leave twice as fast, but yet you decide to sit here and talk highly about some tool you met online and who "told" you about this topic.

Here you go again. You've got absolutely zero nice things to say. I feel bad that you are a person so filled with hatred. You have nothing better to do with your time than to sit there and attack, attack, attack. All I did was post my opinion. I'm not rubbing it in anybody's face. You are taking it that way, not me. Have you ever looked into getting an exorcism?

You see? You attack me again by saying I'm "not all there". Yes, I threw a "zinger" because I'm getting frustrated with your remarks which are always directed at me instead of the situation. You've made it a crusade to insult my remarks instead of having a decent conversation in a public forum. I would happily withhold any "zingers" in future posts if you would also stop with the insults....

So the original topic of this public forum was mama_bear discussion....
I would like to voice my opinion again without any arguing. I welcome any constructive thoughts (pro or con) on this posting.....

Here is my take on the events:

mama_bear had an unknown reason and purpose to offer product to customers at significant price reductions. Unless we are mama_bear, which I am not, we should not claim that he is fraudulent or engaged in any illegal activities until it is proven.

From what I understand, mama_bear was offering product on EBay at low prices. He was then legally purchasing the product at the standard pricing offered by Dealers or wholesalers. He was intentionally losing money for reasons only mama_bear knows yet he was delivering the product to his customers. In essence, he was helping consumers to purchase cases of product by paying some of his own money to cover the cost.

The dealers and wholesalers were getting paid just the same as if it were you or I who paid them. The consumers were happy because they were able to buy product at much lower prices. The thing here is that nobody lost money except mama_bear.

mama_bear didn't take people's money and run. He took their money, paid for the product and was then delivering it. You can see this based on his feedback.

Recently, it seems a group of folks conspired to shut down mama_bear either by filing claims against him or simply would not sell to mama_bear anymore. This may have effectively frozen his accounts and prevented him from buying product for his customers. Due to this conspired plan, mama_bear is forced to cancel some orders and refund purchases.

I was hoping to buy a case of Topps Tribute at a low price. Now I cannot. Am I disappointed? Sure, but my money is being refunded to me. I have no problem with the transaction. Product not delivered, I get my money back. No harm, no foul.

As I see it, Dealers and wholesalers were getting their money. Consumers were getting their product @ wonderful prices. Many, many more boxes flew off the shelves than otherwise would have. The only person losing out (as far as money is concerned) was mama_bear. It is up to mama_bear to determine the reasoning behind his actions. I don't think any of us know for sure his plan behind everything and speculation does not help anyone.

I wish it could have lasted until mama_bear was really ready to finish what he started. Instead, a group of folks planned to shut him down early & quite possibly succeeded. Sure, it would have come to an end because mama_bear would eventually run out of funding, but maybe it would have ended on mama_bear's terms and everyone would have received their product. Now, we will never know.....

As Mark outlined above, I did receive my case of Bowman Sterling today from Mama_bear**. We had our group break with it over on Topps and it was a blast!

I'm very sorry for all those that did not receive the product and are now going through the painstaking process of getting their money back. I realize I am extremely fortunate in getting the case, and I consider myself extremely lucky. I hope that all of you who are filing claims do get your money back in a timely fashion. I know it's frustrating.

It all boils down to taking a calculated risk. Worst case scenario, I would get my money back through PayPal if he didn't deliver. I took a chance and got lucky-- that's the beginning and end of it!
Nyc3, here ya go, he got his - go get em.

I don't know why everyone is so upset about this. We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. You just don't sell product at 50% below what the going rate is. I'm sorry people ended up not getting their product, but I'm glad that most of you had the sense to use a credit card and will be able to get your refunds.

What you are failing to realize, or blatantly omitting, is that someone, somewhere in these 30 pages, posted about a conversation he, or someone on another board also had with mama bear. Where mama bear admitted that he was, in fact, Short Selling, which is incredibly different than pre-selling. He didn't have any product, or any orders in for product, which is illegal on ebay. He was taking orders, and money, with the hope that a week or 2 after release the product would tank, and he could pick it up cheap enough to make a profit.

He wasn't trying to help people out by getting them cheap product. It is/was all an attempt to benefit from the failure of the products. It worked enough on Chrome when it quickly dropped, but blew up his plan when Sterling didn't.

I'm glad you got your product, along with some other people. And, yes, most of the others will be getting their money back. But this guy is a ****** and a detriment to the hobby just like any other scammer out there.

I highly doubt he's using ALL available funds from the sales to buy as much and fill as much as possible. Once he saw he couldn't fulfill on Sterling, he took whatever he had in his account and took off. Once more people finally give up on waiting, the feedback will roll in. Credit card companies will be tracking him for the foreseeable future.

Add: Just because there is protection for the buyers who didn't get their stuff, doesn't make what he was attempting to do ok.

I don't think most people are upset that it happened. But some are upset that folks on this board perpetuated the scheme (I am not one of them). And some are just using the past 15 or so pages to say "I told you so" based upon comments from others in the first 15 pages.
