I know. The arguement they are the same or almos equal, in baseball cards, is not even remotely close.

You don't see where he's coming from? What are these, cuts or stickers?

This is the perfect example, thanked.

So some moron has the idea to make stickers that look like cuts means that now they're the same thing? Are cars and trucks the same thing because some dummy invented an El Camino?

There are plenty of examples in the hobby where players were contracted to sign "cuts" instead of signing "stickers". Off-hand DLP had players sign fake checks and placed them on cards.

Any way one looks at it, someone signed something that was later affixed to a card. Big deal, they're all the same.

Absolutely ridiculous. That's just like saying a house and an apartment are the same because people live in both of them. Do you not understand the concept of "definitions"? Yes, cuts and stickers have similarities, but they aren't the same and it's just silly that you keep pointing out things they have in common while ignoring the blatantly obvious differences
Obviously, here's an example of a sticker auto
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HARMON-KILLEBRE ... 2978wt_936
and here's a cut
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Tri-Star-O ... _500wt_951
there's a super difference in those two.

Sticker autos are just that. They are stickers! If I peel a Jeter sticker off a card and now put it on my Jeep, I now have a Derek Jeter signed Jeep. That is what companies are tryin to sell us isn't it? If leaf signs Barkley, that only drives up his autographics prices. Who in their right minds are going to pay more for an unlicensed sticker auto over an NBA licensed on card product. Same thing will happen with Ichiro autos. Sure they will be hot out of the gate, but long term value, UD won't be beat out by Leaf.

Stop feeding the troll...his existence here is solely possessed of snarky, *******, know-it-all comments
in every thread where he feels the need to inject his douchiness.

I remember to take my garbage out every time he mentions that there are too many baseball products on the market.
(thats once a week for the mathematically challenged)

RL, Ty has always collected the Leaf cut poducts, and shows his breaks in the MT all the time.
He collects celebrity cuts and these cards are for his PC.
I've never seen a complaint until these stickers.

I think we can all agree the use of stickers or cuts when not necessary, absolutely sucks, and negatively affects the demand/price of that auto. Good reason you're seeing all those Maddux cut autos scooped back up by Leaf, they just don't have the demand of an on card auto.

For me, I see no reason spending $20 on Killebrew cut from a card that I can find on ebay for $4 uncut, but I wouldn't want to spend $20 on a hologram or sticker either if I can find an early issued on card autograph for $10 to $15, but a lot of people do, and that's why the companies still do it. But of the 2 evils, I prefer sticker auto's from cut auto's. Cut auto's of living players just rarely makes sense to me.

Yes stickers are indeed stickers by definition. You can also glue a Jeter non-sticker auto onto your Jeep and you'd also have a Derek Jeter signed Jeep. So what? Its all good or bad depending on your point of view.

I have been chatting with Ty online for about 4 years now and I seriously doubt hes looking for freebies.
If you know Ty, you know he absolutely HATES sticker graphs and I guarantee you he probably wouldn't have purchased the product had he known he was going to receive sticker autos.

On the other side, Brian has been nothing but a class act here and another forum I visit and although I don't always agree with him, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and wait for his reasoning!

"They're both autographs"

...THAT is your asinine argument?

I bet you used the same argument about women. "All women are the same" because all of them have functional holes and breasts. At least that was your justification for marrying your wife, who's undoubtedly horrendously fat and ugly

Re: Seriously Leaf... (calling BG) pic added

Been thinking about this since reading the opening post earlier. Personally I agree that stickers are stickers, cuts are cuts and they are not the same. That is just my opinion. However, one of the things that stands out to me in all of this is authentication. I am sure that most of us would agree that we would put more emphasis on the legitimacy of the autograph than anything else. With that said I guess what I am asking is whether you would want a cut from a second party that may be legit or a sticker that was obtained by the distributor of said product. Still not saying I would be pleased pulling a sticker from a cut product.

Ichiro and when BG gets Barkley. They won't be sticker autos. He's paying big cash to get cards hard signed.

Please describe this 'super difference', both cards have an autograph glued to them.
I was being facetious. There's really not that big of a difference. A ****** cut auto is the same as a ****** sticker auto, there's not some humongous difference.

Ty is a great guy, and knows what he's doing. I just don't know why he's doing what he's doing. You can buy these cut autos as singles on ebay, and pick exactly the one you want.

Here are a few examples. I only searched through the first couple of pages of threads that he has started, so there are some real gems I've missed. I'm sure Ty would be able to fill in the missing complaints...

Another contender for "worst auto ever"
in which Ty nominates a celebrity cut auto made by leaf for the #1 spot...
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=137034

Now, I know that's a terrible auto, that's not the thing. Knowing this, I personally would not buy a pack knowing I am risking pulling something like that.

What are the odds of this happening!!?? (leaf cut auto)
In which Ty explains how he pulled a dual cut Jack Haley / Buddy Ebsen last year, and a dual cut Jack Haley / Buddy Ebsen this year as well.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128680

I see where he's coming from and everything, but it just tells me he has uncommon luck when opening these packs, and it is not good luck. I even thought when I read the title that he must have pulled a third dual cut Jack Haley / Buddy Ebsen!

CARD DESTRUCTION THEATER presents - "stickers no more"
in which Ty shows his anger at stickers being included in the Ali product by destroying one
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128329

That's a classic thread and should not be missed. We need more Card Destruction Theater. But I'm saying... Ty needs less packs of Leaf!

What other bad experiences and complaints have you had with Leaf Ty? Maybe I'm just trippin and it only seems like many bad experiences to me. :?:

Re: Seriously Leaf... (calling BG) pic added

6:00 AM, just woke up.

Not sure where to start here. I read all the replies.

Sure, I have had some issues with Leaf before, but I have had more than my fair share of issues with Topps and UD as well. I do NOT single out Leaf to "pick on them." I bring something up when I feel it needs to be.

Back on topic, the IS a difference between cuts and stickers. Do I want a freebie? No. I would very much like to be offered a chance at what I purchased though. I would package up this piece of crap and send it back to Leaf in a heartbeat if they could guarantee me a "CUT-AUTO" for which I paid for.

And no, value does not bother me. This is 100% about principle.

i treat my women like cards. i pull them out of a pack, ram them in a box, then tell the stories about them to my friends.

Scary..... do you picture the guys on the cards while ramming the women?
