Big fan of those types of newspaper cards - the Pirates had several of them during the 1970s. Any indication on these - maybe on the back - what newspaper issued them?

i have a couple Garvey that were on full pages. i can't recall now if the paper was same as the insert sections they issued with similar "cards" in subsequent years. Those in later years came in the Escondido Times, but thinking they might have been in all of the general San Diego papers at the time. Wish I knew for sure.

More Garvey
/7 and another Originals /35 that seller removed from the holder. Hate when people do that, but this is my third copy and i saw it going into the auction, so not as big a deal.

Then I grabbed a lot of 12 I think Wire photos of Garvey. Nice price, as i don't get excited about these anymore. Too many out there to chase them all.

A few autos too.

Also - hoping to see some of your small ball COMC haul.
I posted the entire package in the new arrival thread. These scans capture most of the Dodger-related stuff. There is non-Dodger content here as well, just because I tried to capture everything in as faw photos as possible.

Yes, you guessed it. More garvey. There are a lot of his newer cards floating around, mostly thanks to Leaf, but Panini and Topps trying to hold their own. I wish they'd take a small break and let me catch my breath.

Triple and Leaf both /5. The graded is 66/99, a jersey match x2.

S Green on one of those weird Leaf cards 1/1. Presidents and baseball players, maybe there is a connection?
Green 1-1.png

Edman /25. Been tough winning Fan favotires this and past couple years. I used to complete the parallels of 15-20 players each year, now if I can complete 1 it s a miracle.

Happy to have finally nabbed one of these. Probably outbid on a half dozen over the years. Welch is gone of course and TJ probably isn't that too far from it as he approaches 83 this year.

Pretty sure i have this, but there are at least a couple versions. Grimes relic card. Now sure how much i trust any of the relic pieces now days, but the older players were always fun to grab. This is /100

Proof 1/1. No shortage of these floating around. It's a great way to oversaturate the 1/1 franchise. Now I see 1/1 listings and usually don't even care any longer. This one features Garvey, Tony Perez and Eddie Murray. Looks like there is an autographed version of this as well.

The rest are mostly cheap Dodger autos

This last one counts, but not an in uniform Dodger. Rather this player made a brief appearance later in his career. I didn't have any of these before a week or two ago, now I have 1 and another on the way. Kind of plain with no player image, but still rather interesting to have 4 of the same signature on a single card. They are perforated so you could break apart the card. Yeah, I learned my lesson in 1980 on that one!

This one adds a factor of uniqueness as it's an uncorrected error that lists Jerry Gil (who I had never heard of before this), when in fact it is former AL ROY Angel Berroa. Berroa never could better that premier season and made his way to LA in 2008 for a season that was unmemorable, ending his career the following season with time split between the two NY clubs.

I have not researched the scarcity of all the parallels from this set, but have not seen this one pop up much. I may even already have it. Unnumbered.

Here is my 2nd 4X Fleer Autograph in 2 days. Edwin Jackson, an actual Dodger in this issue.

Just one Garvey today, a Leaf Pre-Production 1/1. It has the gold superfractor type treatment/look.This goes with the printing plate set I bought from someone else, clearly these were issued or sold as sets. I know they were not collected individually on the open market.

I don't know if they sell these or give them away with purchases. Hoping they are giveaways for dealer orders. Someone sent me a pack with an order af a couple others. I ended up opening it and it was someone I had never heard of.

Forgot to post the Dodgers yesterday, so 2 mail day post:

Start it out with a triple player 1/1

Garvey Cey Russell 1-1.png

A jersey match 6/10
Garvey gold 6-10.png

A couple more low numbered auto/relics. WH Auto is /4, bat is /5, Moments Au is /6
Garvey Leaf WH 4.pngScreen Shot 2026-03-07 at 1.40.39 PM.pngGarvey Bat 5.png

Lots of unlicensed "junk", but I am a sucker and I keep it on the lower end mostly. My rival gets to spend the really big bucks to win most of the Leaf crap now.

Nakamura. Didn't have much of a MLB career, but got into a few sets. I never did look to see how he did in Japan, but I like to get new ones when I can. He never sells cheaply though.

Urias /250. Obviously, his stuff is much easier and cheaper to find now. I suspect he is done, but maybe he reappears one day.
