I've had a few conversations via email, and one over the phone, with the "high roller"...his name is chris and he seems like a nice guy. Got a chuckle out of his nickname here on the boards. He came across this set when looking for something to put together...he is not interested in the numbers set or supremacy...just the duals, decades, and immortals. He's got the right idea when he says he is going after the low numbered cards first, then will get the rest....there will be a few bidding wars for sure, but hopefully it wont be too, too bad....if it helps you though, he works from 6am-8pm M-F and most S so when things hit ebay, you can be the first to see it (thinking of BIN)

He's starting to bid on the Supremacy's now too. One I was going to bid on tomorrow is already bid above market $$ by him.

And please tell me people aren't shilling Ult Sig cards now

This is just getting out of hand now

[ebay:1b8iecjo]260408332128[/ebay:1b8iecjo]

Is Eddie Murray that popular, or is this a set collector? I can guarantee no Dawson card #'d to 25 sells that high, ever.

I don't think even the "high roller" expected it to go that high.

I won a card from him, and received it fine, but I'm kinda starting to wonder about this seller a little bit. His cards seem to be commanding more than anyone elses'. Or is that just me?

Wow, Mr. High Roller won 16 Decades cards this morning.... they are ALL relisted. ::facepalm:: Somebody either maxed out the ol' cards or business got bad.

Wow, that is weird. I know the seller is selling cards for someone else....perhaps that someone else has 2 of each, but i doubt it. That's weird, I know the buyer mentioned to me a few times he was going to stay away from the higher printed ones until later on since they are more readily available....very weird.

Yeah after I posted above I thought the same, maybe the seller has dupes. That's definitely possible. Maybe the buyer just decided he might as well get them, but if he wanted to get them cheap he didn't do that. Fred Lynn Decades for $26??? ::facepalm::

Thanks for sharing, Scott!!! Yeah, Clemens is looking like the biggest horse's rear right now. Doesn't look like his reputation will get any better.

Could be just the sheer number of Ult Sig cards being listed is drawing a bunch of attention too. This happened back about 3 years ago on the old BMB. Cards started getting shown off and all of a sudden prices jumped up cuz everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

BTW- Dawson and Williams Decades listed... hopefully they stay in the range they should normally go for!

Not even sure why the seller is letting the runner up bid? Seller had to relist all those Decades the runner up won ::facepalm:: Runner up also retracted on a couple Dual autos this week.......

Woke up this morning to this.

[ebay:12gk5gpu]250414185717[/ebay:12gk5gpu] - Paid $27 for mine last week.

[ebay:12gk5gpu]250422263406[/ebay:12gk5gpu] - Ended yesterday for $15.50.

Either there was more interest when I got mine, or I was shilled slightly.
Whatever the case, I feel a bit scrod.

Eh, I dont think you did too bad. That's the thing with this set, it's all about timing and who sees it when it's listed. For example, i got my griffey immortal for 150, next one at auction goes above 300, then they hit 475, only to see the next one get 225. You just never know with this set....chipper decades 500 is another example. It's all about timing, if that seller listed the chipper 3 weeks prior, the new buyer to the set wouldnt have been around and the card would have gone about 250. So as long as you are happy with it, then you did well. Oh yea, I missed on a clemens immortal for 199BIN (timing.....)

Yep. JPCZ is correct. You see it a lot with these cards. Could say it about most anything on ebay. Just all depends on timing and who is looking that night for what cards. Didn't a Mookie/Buckner combo auto sell for around $130 and then next one was back down to normal price range in $20-$30 range.
