I had an Ultimate mailday yesterday that I thought I would share. I got these two in:

Hopefully one of these days I'll have the money to be able to add the Griffey Immortal.

Joe- I missed your mailday!! Awesome cards! Maybe you'll add the immortal in our break :o :) Great pickups.

For those who haven't seen, the group break is set to go sometime this week! The case is shipping Monday, so I'm guessing the break will be on Wednesday or Thursday. I'll post a link to the Ustream page. I'll probably select slots on monday just to give us a headstart! ;)

Awesome card. I saw that on eBay and was wondering if you were going to go for it. One day soon, I'll be able to post a mailday from the "Land of the Rising Sun."

Sweet Vlad!
So is pretty much every signature card shown in your bucket wideright? I may have to dabble some in this set, these cards looks great and I've never really paid much attention to them before seeing this thread. I swear I saw a graded Carew Seaver on ebay, may have been BGS . Did someone here grab that one? Also anyone track what the Puckett auto cards have been selling for. Both his solo and duals?

Nice platinum Dave!! Glad you won it, and it didint go TOO high.

Matchpenalty: this is a sweet set, looking in wide's bucket will give you an idea of just how sweet. On the first page, first post i think is a list of everyone who collects parts of this set. Dave is the only one who can have the master set, thanks to his 1/1 ozzie smith numbers auto. But a few of us are going for subsets...i am persoanlly going for the immortal inscriptions.

The dual Puckett/Morris goes for around $80-100 I believe.

I actually got mine on a Best Offer from RichG for $70 in Sept. of 2006. RIP Rich.........

About how often do those Immortal Inscriptions cards come. Sick looking cards. I need to find the checklist. So did Maddux sign some of his cards in black?

Just a couple weeks ago there were 5 Immortals listed on ebay at once (Ozzie, Gagne, Boggs, a couple others I can't think of). That's the most at one time that I've ever seen. One of the higher numbered ones #/99 gets listed maybe once or twice a month. The lower numbered ones #/50 and #/75 don't get listed very often, maybe two every 5-6 months? The #/10 and #/15 get listed maybe once every one or two years. Very, very tough set to put together. jpcz has 16 of the 20, I will have 16 as well shortly.

This is the checklist on UD's web site.

No, Maddux signed ALL of his cards in black ink  I don't think he got that memo. :?

The Big Unit card looks awesome. I like how Ozzie and Carter just signed the inscription part. So were any of the inscriptions only found as redemption cards?

The ripken was a redemption...but word from UD is that all 10 got redeemed. I have yet to see one myself though...

Wide is pretty much right on how often they show. the lesser PR numbers actually show up close to once every 2 years i think...I say that because ive been collecting the set for about 2 years now...ive seen 1 nolan ryan (didnt have the cash then, wish i did), 1 maddux (which i got), 1 clemens (which was ended early), 1 johnson (which is in wide's possession), 0 mccovey's, and 1 carter (which i was outsniped on). Tough set, but well worth the challenge!!

I can't for the life of me figure out why Ozzie and Carter would think they only had to sign their nickname. It's just bizarre to me. It's an autograph card for gosh sakes.

. I won my first Ultimate graph. Let's just say I'm going to bottom feed. I did search ebay and found the last 2 immortal prices. KG JRsold for $330ish and dam I'm mad I missed the Gagne. Sure he sucks but $13 bucks for that seemed like a steal.
Wide any news on when you are going to break that next case. I really want to watch that one live.

Looks awesome Chris!! Gotta love a low-numbered on-card of a HOFer! Congrats

matchpenalty: didn't get a chance to look up ending prices for you, but I see you found some. Yeah that last Gagne went for real cheap. It has been as high as 88 :o but price for that card has come way down.

I'm ordering the case tomorrow and want to either overnight or 2-day it, depends on price. That way I can bust on Wednesday or Thursday night.
