Is it this?...

-1998 Pinnacle Mint Coins Gold Plated #26 Nomar Garciaparra

Thanks
Craig

If memory serves me correctly the 1998 gold plated coins say "Gold Plated" in a small banner just above the Pinnacle Mint Collection sign in the middle of the coin. This doesn't have the banner so it's the brass version. I have the '97 but not the '98 so I can't confirm this, going off memory.

Gold Plated (Might not be able to read it, but it says gold plate in the center at the top)

Thank you FCB '90s Thread for once again pimping cards well beyond their logical selling point.

Which is why I post nothing I need in here anymore... :x

Pulled a Darin Erstad #28A Pattrn 20, '99 Topps Tek Gold #/10. Wish it was a Belle or another star but still cool looking insert from 1999. Now in search of a collector of his lol...

I sold one for $35, seen it sell for at little as $17, but it's still pretty good for a redemption. Just seems like a lot more are out there than the 94 ones.

So I did some looking through old boxes and found a 1993 Topps Black Gold ABDC Winner.... looks like this is not worth ~$250 (since not 1994 version) and is worth less than $20 from what I'm seeing?? :(

Referencing http://www.ebay.com/itm/93-TOPPS-BLACK- ... 27bf1926d5

I bought three or four copies for $0.50 apiece and sold the extras for around $15-$20 each. I'm still in need of the certified ABCD.

I remember when 93 UD came out, some of those inserts were worth big money. Weren't the Then & Now's going for stupid money? Pretty sure those were the real hot ones, the Iooss cards were pretty big as well. Back in 1993, I won a 1972 Topps Reggie Jackson in my favorite card store's grab bag contest, and I had a buyer lined up for it, planned on buying myself a ton of 93 UD Series 2 packs. Didn't happen then, but there's a record/toy/comic book shop near me that had Series 1 boxes for $5. Busted one and pulled 5 Mays, 5 Iooss (Ripken and Ozzie), Sandberg Then & Now, and more poorly collated commons than I know what to do with!

I've bought several early 90's boxes and factory sets from this place, all for $5 each. The 1993 UD was the most recent, also grabbed 1990 Bowman FS, 1989-1992 Fleer FS, 1990 and 1991 UD boxes, 1993 Lime Rock Dominican, and a few others that escape me.

I've never had problems finding the Iooss cards, but I've never found them in great shape. Even the ones I pulled out of a pack not that long ago have chipping on the edges. Seems like many of the UD inserts from that era have that problem, especially the 1993 5th Anniversary reprints and those 1992 Scouting Reports (think the Jim Thome booked for $15 back in those days).

After years of searching, I've still never gotten my hands on the 1993 UD Season Highlights inserts of Baines and Brett. From 1993-2001 (when I originally quit collecting) and from 2008 till now, I have never even owned a single card from that set, forget the players I want. Could it be their hardest to find non-numbered insert set?
