That Jordan/Woods dual is going to be one seriously expensive card. I can't even imagine pulling a card that expensive.

Thank you Upper Deck for tripling the number of Tiger Woods markets in the market......out of one product ::facepalm::

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice product!

I guess this one's going to be worthless now........

"...its production was kept a secret even at Upper Deck..." How does one do that exactly, and why? While there are some killer cards to be expected, what's the deal with the "retro" design? Somehow it makes it look cheap, like they weren't willing to pay for a new design. And if that's a corner they're willing to cut, what others might be?

what does the 30 stand for in the Lebron/Tiger dual?

Their B-days..The card is inscribed with both dates.

I really liked that card and wish I had the cash to purchase it...my sister and my best friend's fiance were also born on 12-30.

Upper Deck Announces the Release of the Final NBA Exquisite Set

2009-10 NBA Exquisite will feature standout rookie players and exciting new content paying tribute to the original release six years ago

Carlsbad, CA (September 21, 2009) – When Upper Deck released 2003-04 NBA Exquisite, the trading card market was forever changed. Never before had collectors seen innovative cards packing this much quality which is one of the reasons why a single pack of that product routinely sells for more than $3,000. Today Upper Deck has announced that it will be releasing the company’s final NBA Exquisite set ever later this month. Upper Deck’s 2009-10 NBA Exquisite set will arrive in stores on September 30.

In addition to having Exquisite rookie cards from some of the top 2009-10 NBA draftees, some great retrospective inserts have been created paying homage to the heritage of the Exquisite brand. In 2009-10 Exquisite, Upper Deck honors the most valuable modern day rookie card: 2003-04 LeBron James Exquisite RC (#78). Upper Deck is bringing back that particular card design as a limited insert with some of the sporting world’s biggest names like Michael Jordan, Julius Erving, John Elway, Barry Sanders, Sidney Crosby, and Wayne Gretzky. The ever popular “Triple Logoman Patch” cards and “Dual Logoman Autographed Patch” cards return as well making this Exquisite release a most memorable one.

“It’s awesome to be able to provide collectors with a final exquisite experience in basketball, and this will represent the most limited run we’ve ever done because of the short amount of time we had to bring it to market,” said Brandon Miller, Upper Deck’s basketball brand manager. “There are some cards we included that will have everyone talking starting with the Ricky Rubio autograph rookie cards. This will be the only chance collectors have to pull a Rubio Exquisite rookie so that should be big.”

“Also, we have Upper Deck spokesman Tiger Woods signing dual patch cards with Michael Jordan as well as LeBron James. On one of the Tiger and LeBron cards, they actually inscribed their birthdates on the card as they share the same birthday [Dec. 30].”

Each five-card pack of 2009-10 NBA Exquisite carries a suggested retail price of $650 per pack. Given the limited nature of the product and the fact that it will be the last NBA Exquisite release for the foreseeable future, prices may go higher than the suggested retail price.

Re: OT: Exquisite Bsk to Become Multi-Sport This Year

Keep in mind that this will be the last NBA exquisite set for a while, but you can be sure Upper Deck will be churning out an exquisite multi-sport set EVERY year that they don't have either a baseball or basketball license. And yes, expect to see Michael, Lebron, Kobe, Tiger, Sidney, Gretzky, Ovechkin in every single one of those products and in every form possible.

In addition, don't be surprised if they put out multi-sport products with other brands as well, like ultimate, sp authentic, sweet spot, etc. etc. ie, yes Upper Deck will continue to flood the market.

Those big hits look terrific, they always do.

But there are going to be a big number of $20-$30 rookie basketball autos as one of your hits, a $5-$20 base card as one of your hits, and a jersey parallel numbered to 50, and likely a rookie gold parallel of a basketball scrub as one of your hits cause panini has most of the other best hoopers in this year's class. Retro rookie logo patches will be one every six cases, or it's gonna cost you $12,000 to pull one. I'd imagine you could buy any of them with that much cash.

So even if Elway, Lebron, or Bird is your case hit, you will still lose half your money or break even on this product cracking it, minus the 30 something lucky collectors out of 2500 cases who hit a Tiger dual auto, an MJ rookie logo patch, or a triple logoman with a sweet combo on it- that's still one in 80 cases to make money off a case.

You aren't going to get close pulling Chris Paul or Larry Bird or Magic Johnson or John Stockton limited logos out of your cases as case hits- check on ebay and see how low these things go for. Heck, even if you pull a jordan logo patch, you will only break even on your case.

I really think the key will be to buy the singles. Buy that Elway Rookie logo patch for $500, heck it's expensive for an elway auto, but it's cheaper than a box!

I don't see why they wouldn't incorporate a Griffey in this product due to product exclusivity posterboy status.. Hope to find out soon...

I hope he's at least one of the 18 retro rookie logo patches, though it doesn't seem like they are advertising any baseball players, especially since technically this is a 2009-2010 product, and UD isn't suppose to show any mlb logos in 2010 products- this may be a sticky point that causes them to avoid baseball players all together for the set.

WTF? I guess they are doing what Donruss did before they lost out on their MLB license in 05. Chock the market full of game used/patch/auto cards and go out with a bang. Oh well. I just can't imagine how some people must feel that are still trying to get rid of the 08-09 product. Wow.......what a shocker.

Don't worry guys, you're not going to pull those. The Tiger/Jordan and Tiger/LeBron auto's are currently en-route to Dallas.

Re: OT: Exquisite Bsk to Become Multi-Sport This Year

Lebron/Tiger dual inscription one of the greatest modern cards??????

Are you serious???

To be honest with you, I don't think Lebron can even stand up to Jordan or Tiger - he hasn't done anything yet. He has the potential, but potential has hurt a lot of card values over the years on these multiple signature cards.

If he never wins a championship, or wins maybe one or two, he still doesn't deserve to be on the same card as Jordan or Tiger Woods as being one of the greatest in his sport of all time. That is a very risky card still in terms of an investment, and to find someone who is both a crazy fan of Lebron AND Tiger is not as easy as you think.

I'd like to argue that Lebron being on that card actually HURTS the value of that card......anyone care to debate that?

Personally I think the dual tiger/jordan patch auto card/3 or the retro jordan exquisite 23/23 will be the best hits in this product.

I started a thread with a poll about this subject a while back.

I agree with the poster above, the C/L is a huge issue in my mind. Obviously the photos that we see are the hits in the product but how many low level basketball autos are in this? Without knowing this information it sure is hard to committ to a case or even a pack.

I got a reply from Chris Carlin about the checklist.

Still being finalized. Should be up in the next week or so.

Re: OT: Exquisite Bsk to Become Multi-Sport This Year

Another random thought that just occured to me.

Doesn't Attyball usually break a large portion of the Exquisite production run every year?

Something like 40-50 cases I think. Wonder if they have enough cash left for this?
